I saw 82 turtles.

Aw. When my husband and I were in Florida in September, we saw a baby sea turtle making its way out into the ocean. The waves were heavy, so he kept getting swept back to the sand right when it looked like he was about to paddle out. We didn't stay to watch; you're not supposed to disturb them. I think the turtle made it, though; it wasn't there when we came back later.

My husband has been visiting that area of Florida for decades, but that was the first time he'd seen one. It was pretty cool.

Well of course the ass-turtles are ugly.

My wife and I visited the South Carolina Aquarium at Charleston last week, and got to tour their Sea Turtle Hospital. They had 7 sea turtles in their care at the time, ranging from a 20 pound Ridley to a 350 pound green sea turtle. One of them had lockjaw and had to be forcefed, most had some kind of injury from nets, fishing line or propellers, but all were recovering and they hoped to release most of them next spring.

Hard to believe a 350 pound sea turtle could look cute, but it did.

Eighty two-ugly-ass sea turtles are endangered because they are slowed down by having not just one, but two butts. And both of them are ugly.

Came for Finding Nemo, left all warm and squishy inside.
