(Some Guy) It's never a good thing when you hold a fundraising meeting and you accidently project images of scantily attired men. It's even worse when you're a priest and it happens right before Sunday mass
I can understand how this could be inappropriate because of the circumstances, but what's wrong with a priest having pictures of men - even if they were nude photos?
They aren't pictures of kids, they didn't depict the priest doing anything with men, they weren't even pornographic. Even if the priest is gay, there's nothing to indicate he acted on his sexual orientation.
At worst, you can say the priest may have lost the trust of some of his "flock", but he committed no crime and did nothing wrong as far as the teachings of the church.

Put a picture of a woman in a bikini on your desktop at work and see how far this defense goes with your boss.

Well, I doubt I'd disappear.
I wonder what the reaction would have been had the pictures been of women in bikinis.

You have no problem with hypocrites? I didn't realize Catholics did, either.

Would have been the same. At least it was not little boys.
I have it from an inside source that there are a lot of gay Catholic priests, and gay ministers of many other denominations playing it on the down low.
The Catholic Church needs to wise up that you can't turn off the sexual drive for anyone, so remove the celibacy requirement. (And the "having a penis" requirement, too.) Then maybe you'd have sexually normal clergy, hetero and homo, who don't want to molest kids. The celibate man requirement attracts men who are messed up and confused about their sexuality, rather than attracting the most spiritual candidates.
PYROY:What the hell are they teaching these guys in semenary school?
Mostly liberal arts with a theology minor for the first four years, theology and classical studies for the last four. Unless they go monastic, which is common in seminaries affiliated with an order.
Had that happen in a workshop once. Instructor tells us that he will show us an interesting video. He clicks on the file tab, and one of the recently opened files was something like "hotsex.avi" or something. Everyone pretended not to notice, which is funny because suddenly a room with 60+ people suddenly goes ALL quiet.
He later mentioned off-hand that the laptop was a loaner from the conference center. I'm not sure how many people actually believed him.
