(Major League Baseball) Cool
Yankees hope the baseball season ends tonight with their 27th championship; Phils hope to take it back to NY. Let's all share our feelings about this in our World Series Game 5 discussion thread (7:57pm ET, Fox)

mmm... love that new thread smell.

Here's a question, do you still get to be dressed in the clubhouse or warm the bench if you're on the DL?

/Melky deactivated for Pena... it'd suck if he didn't get to celebrate w/ the rest!

And Lee has become the last hope. He's gotta be tired at this point though.

I don't know, but if the Phil's aren't careful he'll steal 3rd.

Joe Buck channeling his inner Tim McCarver by proclaiming that "What Derek Jeter does... is make things happen."

My Facebook status as of 2 minutes ago:

Game 5. I don't think Burnett is in Lee's class. Yanks should win anyway. Rivera MVP.

Okay then, a proposition for a Monday night:

Baseball's position in the public consciousness over the past decade-plus has slipped because every memorable post-season moment has Joe Buck and Tim McCarver talking over it.

Discuss.

26 more like that, please, Cliff.

Please.

I'm begging.

The threads themselves for the WS have been civil until post-game when all the jagoffs show up.

But does he get boo'ed on the road? Apparently that's a good thing.

Well, he's not begging for the ball, that's for sure.

/still think Lee's in for a great game tonight... hopefully not too great.

Could you imagine Gus Johnson calling games? For us Philly fans hearing him call Stair's homerun would have been awesome. For the Yanks guys, hearing him last night would have been fun.
