The alpaca market reminds me of the tulip market of the 1600s. Prices are just stupid. In fact it reminds me of American real estate in 2007. Only difference is the crash hasn't happened yet.
What is the big deal with these so called "alpacas." They were on a "Chronicle" episode not too long ago and i still don't understand wtf their use in nature is.

Alpaca "wool" is great for sweaters & blankets.
the hairs are hollow and therefore the fibre has super insulation properties..

the market did so crash- alpacas were going for $20000 a breeding pair (with pregnant female and a couple of breedbacks) in the late 80's early 90's, now you're lucky to get $2000 for the same.
