(New Zealand Herald) If the relatives of Bob Marley have their way, soon you'll see his likeness on things like stationery, headphones, musical instruments, restaurants, and snowboards
Treygreen13:If they are trying to preserve Bob's image, that ship has long sailed.
I'm not sure it's a matter of preserving his image as much as it is about capitalizing on it. The fact that licensed Marley merchandise generates about $4 million in sales per year, while unlicensed merch generates about $600 million is likely what got this ball rolling.
What's it matter? His image is already being worn by people who don't even know what he's all about. Like most of the people who've already posted on this thread.
Ahhhh, low and behold one of our best selling papers! Out of the 3 or 4 Hemp paper options the Marleys are always chosen off of name alone, but at least they are a good quality paper. Our soft glass Marley water pipes,...not so much.
I will never understand why Bob Marley is worshiped by so many white American frat boys. I mean, sure, he had some good songs, but it seems every frat boy I meet (I've lived in a couple of college towns, so I've met a lot) absolutely worships both Bob Marley and Dave Matthews.

I can't stand white guys 'inspired' by Marley that go out and get dreadlocks.
Just an opinion.
