So yeah like I totally called Favre the other night and was like cool game bro. Then like I got a text from Ochocinco and was like great catches last week bro and then I went to Starbucks with my daughter who plays field hockey and when I was there I called up Tom Brady and was like what did you dress up as for Halloween?

This Peter King Brett Favre thing is true and it is ridiculous. He is absolutely in love with him.

I started reading the column this week, saw all the Favre stuff, and closed the page. I think I am done with MMQB.

My favorite was his outrage that Fox had the audacity to cut away from Favre "hugging his way across the field" after the game to show the end of the Arizona/Carolina game. That's just a football game; how DARE Fox not show Pam Oliver blowing Favre at midfield!

Nope.

And I was about to say that they just used a bit of CSS to just make the background ad stand still while you scrolled the page, but then I checked it and *sigh* they are using flash. Flash to put a static ad in the gutters of the page.

This would be an appropriate place to put a good facepalm picture.

I'm a steeler fan, but I must admit I have enjoyed the favre saga immensely. Fark posters on favre: Wait and see, he won't actually sign. He signs. Wait and see if he's cleared on the biceps thing. He's cleared. Wait and see if he's healthy enough to start, even then he's mediocre at best. He starts and goes 3-0. They haven't played anyone, we'll see what happens against the Packers. They beat the packers and favre throws 3 td passes. Well, wait and see how he does back at Lambeau. He throws 4 td passes at lambeau.

So, regardless of what happens the rest of the way, the 40 year old dude is leading the league in TD passes after 7 games. I don't care if Favre mails it in from here on out - he has exceeded even the most wildly optimistic projections.

There's still a chance he goes 1-4 in the last 5 games and misses the playoffs....like last year.

Heh. I guess it goes without saying that every team that makes the playoffs loses except for one. I say they make the playoffs and win a game or two before being sent home. At that point Jackson and Rosenfels will be that much more ready to take over. Until we start all over again next year!

I admit, I was that wait and see guy, but I still am. And at the end of the season if Favre helps us win the big one, if we never win another it will always be said that "The Vikings couldn't win the Super Bowl without selling their collective soul to Satan Brett Favre as their QB."

And that's why good or bad, I will never get behind BF as our QB.

I don't know, he only won one before. Before 2005 Pittsburgh had won 4 but none without Bradshaw. Getting the trophy would be worth it - winning the SB is hard - take it however you can get it. The dude is 40 - as old as the shiat gets he can't last forever so it'll be over soon enough. He's proved he could still play and play at a high level no matter what happens from here on out so as far as I'm concerned I can't fault him for coming back.

Now, now...he was really pissed off at Favre for unretiring again when he had specifically told King that he would stay retired. That resulted in a column that was quite similar to what a...jilted...lover would write.

Right now, the only team in the NFC I can see give the Vikings any real problems in the playoff is going to be the Saints. I have my doubts if the Vikes can get past them. I just don't think they have the secondary to stop Brees.

I'd agree if the season were to end today. I suspect we're still in for a few surprises though. Every single year there are teams that have a drastic change in fortunes around midseason - a couple of the bad teams are gonna get it together and go on a run, and a couple of the first half stalwarts are going to falter. We just don't know who yet.

That's one perspective. Another perspective is that I don't suddenly start blowing a guy I've hated since I can remember watching football just because my team's cock-happy coach can't find anyone else to hand the damn ball to AP.

What a horrible fan you are. I watched every game had vs the Vikes and even I can respect the man as a player and still hate the Packers because they're the enemy. You should realize that it's poetic justice that he now is doing the come from behind wins for us.

AP is certainly having another fine year. Though a reasonable person could certainly argue that Favre's season thus far is just as good if not better. Put them both together and you get 7-1.

I am a horrible fan because I love the team but not the biatchy QB they hired to sell seats? Because I buy my merchandise? Because I watch the games and cheer for them? My dad raised me to be a Vikes fan. He did his duty. He's on board with BF. We don't agree on that but he doesn't pretend for a second my heart is anywhere but behind my team.

I won't apologize for not liking the NFL's biggest douche-bag cry-baby career INT leader. I'll probably also not invite him over to my house for drinks when he throws 4 in the playoffs to lose the game.

I understand your perspective. You like the Vikings winning. So do I. I just don't like BF. It's perfectly fine to disagree. This is a forum. I am sharing my thoughts on BF without telling anyone they are wrong about theirs. You should realize not everyone agrees with you.

Obviously, Favre makes for great press; however look at the team he walked on to. Has there ever been a better match between a team and a QB? This is not the same team with Sage or Tavaris. This group of guys is immensely talented, and they are playing their guts out to play their given role in the Favre saga. As long as the wins come, everyone is willing and happy to be a bit player in this storyline, especially if it ends with an invite to the Super Bowl.

If, and I mean if, the Vikings make it to the Superbowl, it will be the most watched game in NFL history.

BTW, is there anything more fun to watch than an NFL linebacker meeting Adrian Peterson in the open field? I don't recall seeing anything like him since a young Eric Dickerson.

313 and counting. I don't care how many attempts it took him, that's the number that matters.
