it's ok, i guess i just have a fundamental problem with people sticking bar fruit in my beer. and if i'm in the mood for a wheat beer i'll usually opt for a sunshine or boulevard.

guinness drinkers typically no longer respond to surveys since getting burned in that towel debacle.

You don't HAVE to get fruit in it, you know.

More likely, Guinness drinking were busy on the toilet.

I always have to clean my toilet the day after I drink Guinness. I have no idea what makes the feces so ... sticky.

If you can see through it (with relative ease) its not beer. (with a very few exceptions.)

I'm talking to you donkey piss (Corona) drinkers.

stella has always tasted skunky to me, but that might result from the fact that i've only drank it at hipster dive bars.

RockIsDead: My beer is so obscure even I haven't heard of it.

Oh yeah, well, I don't even know what beer is! That's how farking cool I am.

In any case, I liked this line about craft beer from TFA:

This group is more likely to spend time thinking about beer rather than work.

I also loved the seemingly random categorizations, to the point where I wondered if this is satire. The five pairs of sneakers thing, in particular.

Rapmaster2000 2009-11-02 03:02:15 PM
I drink anything and everything. I drank a few Left Hand IPAs at the bar last night, and then pounded some High Life for dessert.

Saturday I drank off a keg of something. I don't ask when it's free.

Friday I drank some pumpkin beer, and ended the night with Stella.

Wendy's Chili 2009-11-02 03:03:15 PM
I'd say I'm most like the "craft beer" personality, but I'm even more easy-going in that I don't mind if what I'm drinking isn't a craft beer.

that's almost akin to talking good about Farve

Spotted Cow is a damn good beer, I always want to smack my fellow college students when I see them drink coors or bud. We are in Wisconsin, we have so much good cheap local beer. Hell PBR is better then bud and the same price here

So you can split beer drinkers into Pale Ale, Low-Cal Pale Ale, Pale Ale, Lager, and Wheat Beer and that's it? That's all the choices? No dunkels? No stouts? No nut browns? No seasonals? Not even a Guiness?

And thanks for the assumption that if you drink a Blue Moon, you're being tricked. Hey Ad-age, do you know that if you buy a Budweiser or a Coors you're drinking an import? Ha! They pulled the wool over your eyes.

I'm right there with you on the Smithwick's. I like Bass and Newcastle Brown Ale as well, but lately I keep coming back to the Smithwick's. I don't want a beer so obscure I can't find it anywhere (and Smithwick's kinda flirts with that- it isn't exactly common), so I usually don't bother with microbrews, but I do want my beer to have some taste. Preferably pleasing taste.

Hmmm... I have disagree with the craft drinker personification.
Missing deadlines is not something I can afford.

Sierra-Nevada for the win!
Living four miles from the brewery helps though.
I can usually get the good stuff (Pale Ale, Torpedo) for $6.59 a six-pack, usually less than the piss-water "brews".

Although, my father still suggests that my beer could be used as a machine oil substitute... But he drinks Bud and Rolling Rock.

My problem is that I want to try everything, too many beers, not enough time. At what point will I finally say "this is my beer" and buy it regularly?

If you like Newcastle, Carolina Nut Brown Ale is something to behold. Good luck finding it.

Doctor Jan Itor: I don't always drink donkey piss, but when I do I prefer Corona.

It really is bad beer... hence the requirement that it be consumed with a lime.

brigid_fitch: A friend of mine who is a total beer snob drinks Blue Moon all the time. Although he does yell at me when I put an orange slice in mine.

My buddy has a well-maintained kegerator and when I last visited his house I enjoyed the best Blue Moon draugts of my life, which easily ranked among the best beers I've ever had. I kid you not, the pristinely-clean piping and a lucky keg made this beer transcendent. No fruit involved.

For the record that distinction puts it in league with Aventinus, Spaten Optimator, and many other beers that snobs on here have creamed over that currently escape me.

I'm going to side with Michael Jackson and say that Corona is the single worst beer on the planet. If you enjoy this beer, it's because you've told yourself that it's good in spite of reality. Draw your own conclusions on "personal type".
