(ESPN) Lawyer for NASCAR driver Jeremy Mayfield says it's CRYSTAL clear he's not getting a SPEEDy payment. METHinks there will be no CRACKing this case
Jeremy Mayfield should have a decent amount of money, unless he blew it all on meth (which if he did, it wasn't just for him because he'd be a shriveled up corpse). He made over 30 million in winnings, and even after you take out what went to the team and his crew, and then add his driver salary on top of that, I can't see how he couldn't pay a lawyer. Of course Mayfield was always sort of a douche on the track, and probably a douche off of it as well.
But I will say that the #12 team would be better off with a methed-up Mayfield driving it again than David "sideways" Stremme destroying the car every week.

Well he did have to pay a lot of money to his ex-wife. The one that married him when he wasn't a hot shot Cup driver. She was slightly over weight and not as purdy as the one that will probably be leaving him soon. He decided he needed an upgrade once his Cup career got going and paid her to go away.
My favorite part of the article... Diehl wished Mayfield luck with his case, but said, "I'm going to get paid."

Nah, Mayfield can just go away...he lost the ability to be competitive years ago when his ego ballooned. Keselowski is deservedly taking over the #12 next year and Stremme can go take up space in the Nationwide Series or something.
All of them need to GO AWAY. NECKAR needs to pay Mayfield off, Mayfield needs to promise to STFU and go buy a track in East Bumfark where he can do whatever the fark he wants.
