GEAUX Saints!

Can't wait see how Bobby reacts tonight:

A win tonight will give the Saints a fairly commanding 3-game lead in the division. People are already tailgating by the Dome. The Falcons have their work cut out for them.

Not tonight, unfortunately. I go to about every other home game with my father-in-law, who has season tickets, and I went to the Giants game two weeks ago. He's got five kids who are all married, so he spreads it around as much as possible.

I need the Saints defense to do a bang-up job tonight for my fantasy points; I left 48 points on the bench this weekend with my stellar roster staffing.

Gotcha.. I'll be in the pressbox, where we're not supposed to celebrate, be neutral, etc... Maybe I'll wander down to the stands so I don't break any rules. :)

I want the Saints to win so the Falcons can GTFO the wild card playoff picture.

The NFC East needs its 3 playoff spots again.

My trend of needing a highly improbable situation to win on Monday Night in my Yahoo league plagues me again this week.

Tonight's impossible demand: I need less than 7 pts from Drew Brees to win.

Yes, everyone cares I'm sure.

GOOOO FALCONS!!!!!! Matt "Matty Ice" Ryan will lead the charge with an 80 yard pass to Roddy White for the game winning touchdown! how do I know? Roddy White is on my fantasy team and I'm looking to extend my blowout victory over a guy who didn't manage his team in time for yesterday's games.

Plus I'm a Falcons Fan!!

My "cool story, bro" is that I need 27 points or less from Matt Ryan to win, so go Saints D! However, I worry if there's a shootout going both ways, I might be in trouble.

Treygreen13 2009-11-02 12:37:21 PM
Sometimes I forget how annoying Saints fans can be. They lull you to sleep by disappearing 9 out of 10 years in a decade, falling conveniently silent when they record yet another 5-11 season... but that one good Saints season every once in while brings them out in force.

Next year, when they're 2-6 at this point, we can start spelling "Go" properly again.

My cool story bro involves me getting 7 from Lance Moore. I'm putting it down as "unlikely" but some fantasy guys have him down as a "sleeper".

I take it you not only don't live in New Orleans, but haven't been to a Saints game when the team was doing poorly. Or you're just trolling.

donnyd 2009-11-02 12:41:08 PM
I've already won my matchup but I need as many points as possible to catch up in the standings. I'm hoping this turns into a shoot out cause I want some decent number s from Roddy White. I'm glad I didn't take him out for Sims-Walker.

tommyl66 2009-11-02 12:41:56 PM
Bro, yet another cool story. I need Pierre and Lance to outscore Shockey by at least one point. Either that or Ginn needs to sneak onto my starting roster from the bench...

Obviously, I don't live in New Orleans. I'm sure you Saints fans are rabid in the hometown. However, when your team sucks, the fan presence on the internet (which isn't based in New Orleans, or the Superdome) disappears in comparison to the fan presence when your team is good.

Hence, not as many people posting Saints helmets and typing "Geaux" last year when you came in last in your division.

This just in: People tend to openly express more pride in public when their teams are doing well than when they are doing poorly. Thanks, Mr. Romero!

So, if my post was obviously true, why bother disputing it in the first place, before going to the Romero line?

I don't have any problem with you specifically posting about the Saints. I know you're a big fan, and probably support them no matter what. I'm sure there are a lot of hardcore Saints fans here.

However, the fairweather fans irk me, and it just so happens that fairweather Saints fans in particular use a specific catchphrase that I only see en masse when they are good.

I feel the same way about fairweather Cowboys fans, and fairweather anyone fans. So don't think it is specifically about the Saints.

my "cool story, bro" is that if the Saints win, I get 60 dollars from my confidence picks pool. I know it's only 60 bucks, but I'll take it.

On another note, a MNF thread already? It's going to be a good Monday!

I have Matt Ryan and Roddy White, up by 10 points
Opponent has Drew Brees...

How about that shiat.

After the 2006 NFC run, the Saints had 2 mediocre years. However, for both 2007 & 2008, there were still 30,000+ people on the waiting list for season tickets.

Every team has bandwagon jumpers. Well, every team does when it is playing well. If it makes you feel better, I'll try to hype the Rams for a bit.
