Look, I'm no boy scout. I've downloaded music illegally before, and I've ripped discs from the library. Some were titles that I would have paid money for, too.
But... by and large, if I want something I pay for it. That applies to all kinds of consumable goods, not just music.
Maybe if I was a pimply-faced teenager with no money and a desire to "stick it to the man," I'd think differently. Maybe not. But that doesn't matter to me now.
I'm a full-grown man with some money in the bank. I don't need to steal shiat.

apparently you're not, you don't, and you do...you know, since you've admitted to copyright infringement.
here's a hint for you, dumbass, it's not farking theft and downloading is NOT farking illegal. Making available for download is illegal, not downloading.

You sound a little touchy. Probably just your guilty conscious talking. Or the paranoia.
Fine. "Taking something that doesn't rightfully belong to you without paying for it, against the expressed wishes of its owners and creators." Whatever word you wish to apply to that activity... I don't really need to do that. (But yeah, I've done it before too, so clearly I'm not on some big moral crusade against it.)

Pimply-faced teenager vs Mr Fabulous
PFT - Downloads/steals a ton of music, yet also spends half his weekly paycheck from McDonalds on new music
Mr Fab - Buys a new Cold Play CD every 2 to 3 years.
Which consumer is more valuable to the record industry?
Mr_Fabulous:Look, I'm no boy scout. I've downloaded music illegally before, and I've ripped discs from the library. Some were titles that I would have paid money for, too.
I am reminded of a quote from Elwood Blues, "By the year 2006, the music known today as the blues will exist only in the classical records section of your local public library."

Copyright infringement is not theft for the same reason doing your own oil change isn't stealing from Jiffy Lube. Did i steal from you when i picked up that dollar bill on the ground that you didn't notice? It wasn't yours to begin with. i got it and you didn't. That's not theft.
Lloyd Braun:Almost one in 10 of those questioned aged between 16 and 50 said they downloaded music illegally.
I bet 7 of those remaining 9 that say they don't download music illegally are liars.
I wonder if there's a timeframe. I haven't illegally downloaded music in about 4 years (kept infecting my machine with crap downloaded off Kazaa and Limewire). So if you asked me if I downloaded music illegally I could say yes, but it wouldn't have much basis in reality these days.

More like: 7 in 10 people say they don't use illict drugs.
The other 3 in 10 say they've never robbed a liquor store and spend $40 there weekly.
Ergo, drug use isn't the demon "they" make it out to be.
