aearra:I find it amazing that the networks continue to use this thing as a political pundit. It speaks volumes about their credibility.
If there are any left wing commentators with balls, everytime froom here on out tht thehy find thmselves arguing head to to head with Trickless Dick, they should say " Are you sure about that Dick? I hear your memory is a little spotty these days..."
Emposter:FTA: Cheney's FBI interview featured 72 instances in which he said he could not recall
I think we all know this is a lie, a cover up by the government to hide what Cheney REALLY said, "Error 4375: File encrypted, Access Denied."
Given the previous administration's tendency to overwrite backup tapes containing years of email and use 3rd-party email providers for official business, more like "404 Not Found."
So all of the branding they've done for him as some epicenter of conservative brilliance that has a mind like an encyclopedia and never forgets details doesn't really stand up when he's being grilled by the feds.
The thing is, no one involved in the whole Plame affair had any idea that it was going to spiral out of control like it did. It doesn't surprise me one bit that he cannot recall a lot of the conversations about it, as they were mostly in his mind trivial banter. While there are many who like to pretend that it's a big conspiracy, a 'hit job' to take down a political opponent, there's not really evidence to indicate it. "Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity."

Doesn't stupidity enter into the criminal realm at some point?
On 72 occasions, according to the 28-page FBI summary, Cheney equivocated to the FBI during his lengthy May 2004 interview, saying he could not be certain in his answers to questions about matters large and small in the Plame controversy.
Given what happened to Scooter Libby, that's exactly what you should do if there's the least uncertainty in your mind. Otherwise, if your account of events differs from someone else's, even in an inconsequential matter, you face going to prison for lying to the feds. These days, I'd personally go even further and refuse to talk to a fed. There's no upside to it, and a huge downside. If they think they have something on me, bring charges, but at least they won't be able to gin up a charge of lying.

Alzheimer's disease is a horribly cruel and devastating way to go... however perfectly apt, karmatically, for Cheney.

I think that is too kind a fate for Cheney.
