I've been a rock fan all my life - raised on beatles, stones, who, and queen, then onto grunge, the 90s punk revival, and so on. I despise pop music and regularly rip into britney, the simpson girls, the jonas brothers, miley cyrus, and so on.

But the Alizee live DVD is in fairly solid rotation on my mp3 player along with a lot of Mylene Farmer.

I speak enough French to catch most of it, and the lyrics are really CLEVER in their songs, not the mindless dribble of most English-language pop. They're catchy without being annoying. And they don't lip-sync their live shows.

So yeah, I'm right with you.

Did you see his last tour? Live, Closer to the Truth is the best Springsteen song Springsteen never wrote or performed.

He does do lots of ballads but he is still the best live act I have ever seen - and I've seen a lot (starting about 1978). I am looking forward to the next recording with the Blackwidows.
