While I'd have preferred to have the Primordial submission greenlit this song wasn't bad. Not good enough to make me run out and get the album but if someone wants to recommend some other songs by them I'll check them out.
Does anyone here listen to KEXP? They aired a new metal show at midnight last night... I'm still kind of a metal noob but I enjoyed it. Playlist here, you can stream it on the website also. The show will air Saturdays midnight to 2am.

Can't say I care for that playlist much at all to be honest.
About time. This is the first time that the link has been something I haven't heard before. Decent, but like Kliffoth said, not enough to make me want to check them out further. I'm looking forward to another copy/paste thread of retards complaining about "cookie monster" vocals. I suggest ignoring them, or telling them we've been through this before.
Anyways, Bornholm released their new album, March for Glory and Revenge, this week, and it is utterly fantastic. For those who don't know, Bornholm is a Hungarian black metal band that sounds similar to Sear Bliss. They've got solos, clean backing vocals, and epic atmosphere.

I say that playlist is farking perfect, wow. thanks for the heads up, am definitely doing to have to give this a listen and make some requests.
This is the first time i have to say, holy wow. Nice epic guitar passages, techy rhythm section, tasty. I've heard the name, but I've never checked these guys out. Kinda reminds me of Dissection with the Seance dude on vocals, well before Dissection got all ghey.
/ed so much Dissection that it almost sounds like Quo Vadis channeling the Somberlain here. (new window)
The Slush:The Red Chord - Mouthful of Precious Stones
This song title reminds me of Kurt Vonnegut's book 'Bluebeard'.

Dissection's first two albums are farking incredible.

Its got At The Gates and Iron Maiden, so that makes it better than anything I can pull in over the air here.
The new Arkona album was leaked last week and its great, will definitely be picking it up when it comes out Tuesday.
Haven't listened to Quo Vadis much... I know I downloaded their album, but I don't remember much about it. I don't think I deleted it, so it must have been decent.
penguin121:The new Arkona album was leaked last week and its great, will definitely be picking it up when it comes out Tuesday.
Really? I'll have to check this out. I liked Hilal, so I'll definitely be looking into this.
My recommendations for the week:
Priestess - Prior To The Fire: If you like uptempo stoner rock, then you'll love these guys. The new album is great, and might make my top ten list for the year.
ArmCannon - Return Of The Attack Of The Legend Of Pizzor: Stupid album title, great album. These guys aren't quite as good as Powerglove, when it comes to video game metal, but they are still really damn good. They definitely experiment more, deviating from straight up metal.
The Devin Townsend Project - Addicted: Very different from the first DTP album, but quite awesome. Definitely heavier, although it's more along the lines of his solo stuff than SYL.
Katatonia - Night Is The New Day: I'm relatively new to listening to Katatonia, but I'm liking them. The new album is quite good, although I've only listened to it once so far.
This submission embodies everything I hate about cookie monster vocals (and the Red Hot Chilli's for that matter).
That band is talented. Tight....melodic...as good as anything I ever heard. That 'vocalist' is a goddamned hack who should count himself lucky to have a farking job.
There is no way in hell you can say that that farking lack of talent could do a better job than Dickenson signing along with the same farking music
Madbassist1:There is no way in hell you can say that that farking lack of talent could do a better job than Dickenson signing along with the same farking music
If Dickinson toned down the operatics a bit, otherwise it would feel overdone.

Im saying the band was awesome and could have used a singer...I do not think the guy they have helped them...at all.

It's melodic, but still death metal, so a singer with a rougher voice than Dickinson would probably work better... I'm thinking someone like Tom Angelripper from Sodom.
/For your consideration Mad, Instrumental Melodic Death Metal: Amogh Symphony.
I thought it was pretty good. I'm disappointed that my Primordial submission didn't get accepted but I'll wait a few weeks/months and give them a shot.
This week I've been listening to the new Alice in Chains album, Black Gives Way to Blue and it is f*cking amazing. I got it when it came out but never actually sat down to listen to it. Wow. It's great. I know a lot of people out there think that they are just a simple Grunge but this band can be as heavy as they come. It's a very doomy album that will slow you down and pull you in. Even if you are not a fan of Alice in Chains you need to give the album a chance. I'll just link to the first song and let the music do the work from there:
