I resent that. I am a Dr. Who fan and I have lost my virginity. And with an actual live human female.

Yeah, this next dude better be good. I'll give him some time though. After the 9th I didn't really like Tennant at first, but now I think he's way better. I can't wait for a Moffat written season finale though. . . farking Davies can't write an ending to save his life. He's often very good at the buildup (first two parts of the last season finale were amazing, the ending itself sucked horribly), but he can't end anything without deus ex machina.

Honestly, I like Tennant less the more I see him. Not because of any problem with the actor, but more because of the scripts. Also, while he can do cold menace very well, his "RAR ANGRY DOCTOR" never feels convincing.

Those aren't boobies they're knuckles. They are only soft because you have pudgy fingers. And carpal tunnel is not pms.

Eh, I don't blame him for the scripts. I can forgive him a LOT of lackluster episodes after the end of "Family of Blood" or whatever that two parter is called. The Doctor is best when he shows off his inhuman side. He's very very old and has accomplished huge things, and it is always cool when they remind you that the quirky, funny, sort of goofy Doctor is a millenium old uber badass who has destroyed whole civilizations and knows more than you ever could.

/The only Doctor moment more badass than that one that I've seen/heard is from an audio play with the 8th Doctor, called "Phobos."
//There was a god of fear, and the Doctor showed it (by thinking about it) all the things he feared which happened in the past, all the things he feared would happen, and finally all the things he feared he might do. Which scared the fark out of the would be god.

"Phobos" and his time in the other universe made me wish that there would have actually been an 8th Doctor series.

I haven't heard that. I just have one season of the shows I found. Some are lackluster (one about people pretending to be Greek Gods, uhg) but all in all they have more interesting stories than the show usually does.

The 5th doctor (IIRC) one with the "real" end of Adric. . . that was pretty farking dark for Doctor Who.

With the Big Finish series, Eighth Doctor saved a woman named Charley from an airship crash in the early 1900s. Saving a woman that was to die and later assumed dead created an anti-time virus called Zegreus. The Doctor became infected with this virus and learned of Rassilon's creation of a timeless universe where he banished all that were not humaniod, called 'The Divergence'. Also dealt with Rassilon's creation of the first TARDIS and regenerations (and why there are only 12). Learning that the virus would destroy this universe, he chose to banish himself into the Divergent Universe where there is no time at all. Charley, learning that this was all caused because of her and her love of the Doctor, stowed away into the TARDIS knowing that there was no chance of ever returning from the timeless universe.

Big Finish spent two years with them in the other Universe. Overall it was a great story line. Being pestered by the Kro'ka (the puppet of the Divergence), being shunted from world to world and the TARDIS being stolen.

"What the hell, a human scientist named 'Doctor Who' built the TARDIS in his back yard and even though his name is 'Who', he is not Asian?"

Bah, she's one of the least attractive companions he's had, ignoring the male ones. When you include the male ones, she ranks someplace below Jack Harkness and well above Adric.

Still, she's no Zoe. Or Romana I, or even Romana II for that matter.

Pfff. You probably have, which explains why you call yourself a Dr. Who fan. Did you miss the part where it's always spelled out "Doctor" because you were too busy putting your penis in a woman's vagina? Do you need me to explain to you what the magical blue box-thingy is, or did you figure that out in whatever time you could spare from the physical act of love?

/heh heh, I told that n00b

Great Janitor: Last night PBS was showing "Human Nature" and I realized that I'm probably going to miss Tennant.

Yeah, I had a similar realization Friday when I was watching the two-part Sarah Jane Adventures story featuring the tenth Doctor. Had this brief flash of "future me" perspective looking back on present me being able to look forward to three new Tennant stories while future me had no new ones to look forward to with the tenth Doctor.

May have been partially induced by me being in the middle of watching/listening to the narrated audios of The Moonbase, the partially lost Troughton story. I've seen it before, but I dole out viewings of the early partially remaining stories because that helps make them feel like "new" stories still, despite having been filmed in the '60s.

You know, I went back and watched a few of his episodes. Not as bad as I had feared. Though his audio plays are much much better.

I think Colin Baker made a great Doctor. Some of his scripts and any story featuring the red-headed horror which is Melanie Bush tend to detract from this a bit. Still, I was *way* too hard on him back in the day.

And yes, his audios are quite good, and are what made me revisit his televised stories with fresh eyes.

"I always like to do the unexpected. Takes people by surprise!"

Colin Baker would have been a good Doctor save the scripts he was given and the whole sleeping with the bosses wife and the boss wanting revenge thing.

I don't understand why so many love Sylvester McCoy. After the first episode I watched with him I said "It's over. I can't believe they let this happen."

I would have loved a transitional season with Tennant and Moffat before a new Doctor.

Davies only talent is dialogue between two characters when it comes to overall story he writes nigh/fanboy slash fiction.

I think it's because they didn't just give up and stop watching after the admittedly dreadful Time and the Rani. He got better, as did the scripts.

Especially after they gave Mel her undeservedly well-written send-off. She deserved something more like what they did with Dodo in The War Games. Or perhaps a good shove off of one of those ice cliffs in her final story.

Try starting with Remembrance of the Daleks and on from there. Not all perfect by any means, but you can see the upward trend happening as the show started recovering... up until the point when Michael Grade finally killed it, anyway.

The best thing about Colin Baker was his kick ass fashion sense. Second best was trying to choke the life out of Peri (nice on the eyes, assault on the ears. After seeing her first episode, I'm convinced her body, not really acting, is what got her the role).

I was living in England when Tom Baker was the current Doctor and even saw the regeneration into Doctor 5 episode when it first aired.

Impossible to say. If you got them close enough to compare, the two massive things would crash into each other due to gravity. The resulting mass would probably collapse into a singularity.
