FTA: When asked about an opposing Web site patterned after his, called My Congressman Is Nuts, Grayson said, "They call me nuts, they call me stupid, they call me ugly -- they might be right about ugly -- but that's not what's important."

While his own website is congressman with guts, more recently his behavior would suggest it should be congressman with nuts.

That said, he needs to make sure he doesn't trip over them before his rhetoric gets in the way of the delivery of real results.

Grayson says some things which are, IMO, too over the tops. He has something the democrats need, but he has too much of it. But he also seems a lot more. . . ballsy and funny than most congresspeople.

I mean, he's basically going full, balls to the wall anti-Republican. He's treating Republicans the way they treat democrats. It's disingenuous and over the top, but I would be lying if I said I didn't get some "what's good for the goose is good for the gander" pleasure out of it.

Because when Republicans said democrats wanted to kill old people, that was "speaking truth to power." But democrats saying republicans want to kill poor people. . .

An angry, populist politician that uses simplistic arguments and throws out red meat to his fans?

This is the first time ever the internet has seen a political personality cult. There's no way he'll become a passing fad. His philosophy will spread from the basements of geekdom and transform the world!

As a District 1 Floridian, I wish my district was lucky enough to have a congressman represent it like Mr. Grayson, instead of a joke republican soap box of a prick as Jeff Miller(Joe Scarborough before him was just as bad).

Grayson used to treat republicans with a lot of dignity, until he started getting treated like shiat whenever he tried to talk to Fox News correspondents about our current problems. He is a great congressman and I hope he runs for the Senate.

I don't recalling hearing them say Democrats want to kill old people, just that their policies will result in it. An accurate statement, IMO. If you reduce Medicare funding by 500 billion, something has to give and what's going to give is medical care for the elderly. I'm sure Democrats will be properly regretful, if they notice.

I wonder when the republicans will get their ducks in a row and get some real talking points out about the meat of Grayson's arguments. For now, it seems like his style has them so flummoxed that all they can do is fall back on the old standards of ad homs and tangential attacks. They haven't even started misrepresenting his stances yet.

Nice thing to say about the party who created Medicare in the first place. If it were up to her and her ilk, seniors would have no medical care at all.

Becaues they ARE different. Politicians are deceitful, manipulative, and greedy, while voters, in general are stupid, gullible, uninformed, and usually scared. While they certainly encourage each other, they are not usually in any way the same.

I'm in cleveland, and Trafficant has started guest hosting for one of the local talk radio asshats.

Trafficant is a paranoid idiot. I don't know what he was like before prison, but the guy is really out there now.

He does have a healthy disdain for the justice system which I share, though.

When he made his first national appearances on TV, I cringed. His heart was in the right place, but he was way over the top.

Over the past few weeks, he's begun delivering his messages in a bit less hyperbolic way. I'm glad to see him polishing up some. As he becomes more comfortable with being a national figure, hopefully he can remain a populist liberal without being off-putting. That's a political slice that hasn't had a strong voice in decades.

Polish up enough to be taken seriously, Grayson, but don't lose your edge.

Believe me, he was pretty bizarre before prison. I can't imagine that it would help any. Watching his rants in Congress on C-SPAN is hilarious.
