FTFAThe tactic at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern, Worcestershire, is part of a campaign to raise awareness of the danger bonfires pose to hedgehogs.

So... this is an actual problem? Like moths to a lightbulb hedgehogs run to the bonfire?

The bonfire pile gets built up gradually in preparation for bonfire day. And the little guys go take naps in the giant wood pile. Then when it comes time to light it on fire, you get little screaming burning hedgehogs.

So a hedgehog runs into a fire, big deal! As long as they get all their rings back they'll be fine.

We have a hedgehog residing in the back garden, their main diet consists of slugs, consequently, I love hedgehogs.

We've named him Dinsdale.

I'm confused. Isn't a bonfire a bonfire only when there's actually a fire? A huge pile of wood is not yet a bonfire, it's just a huge pile of wood.
