(News.com.au) Sick Ever wonder what that odd smell was at the police station downtown? The odd smell that's been stinking up the place for the last two years? It's not the fridge, it's the corpse on the roof   (news.com.au) divider line 98

They placed it there because the station refused to release funds for DNA testing. What the... I have nothing but utter contempt for these people.

You have no idea. Spent some time with an Indian research group working to speed up their judicial process. The stories were maddening. That they even knew the location of the body is nothing short of a miracle.

OMFG!

Unfortunately, the submitted article isn't so much about the "work ethic" in India as it is about a casual attitude due to the ubiquity of poverty, suffering and death, especially for those marginalized by a hereditary caste system that was supposedly outlawed in the 1950s but continues unabated. The site I linked to shows just how cheap life can be under that system.

The body left on the police station, want to be he wasn't a Brahmin?

You do know that Obama has played more rounds of golf in 9 months than Bush did in 2 1/2 years, right?

Don't include politicians when you talk about work ethic.

Mr. Right 2009-10-28 10:51:28 AM
I agree with all of the India stinks comments but the article says that the body was reduced to bones after 2 years of exposure to the elements. Earlier it says the body was put in a body bag and then placed on the roof. Those statements appear to be at odds with each other. Body bags are pretty stout and being placed on a roof in India in one of them would be similar to putting a roast in one of those oven cooking bags. The meat may be falling off the bones but there would still be a pretty soupy mess in there. Or did something compromise the integrity of the bag?

/Not sure if I want to know what kind of research has been done on the long term viability of body bags exposed to the sun on an Indian rooftop.
