Gah, what the hell was that? Now I see why everyone always biatches about Cracked...Usually the only time I am exposed to that site is when someone links to content on it that's at least semi-interesting. Not so much this time.

We'll get over it.

FTFA: One trick is to take the word you're looking for, punch it into a web translation engine and translate it to Japanese. Depending on the language packs you've got installed on your machine, you may or may not see Japanese characters or complete gobblydegook, but regardless, paste that shiat into Google, and see what it digs up for you.

Oooh, useful. 触手 FTW.

What is weird is that CRACKED has seriously surpassed the range of "funny" that MAD MAGAZINE had 2 decades ago.

Meanwhile NATIONAL LAMPOON has lost the funny and is wallowing in lame racial jokes.

// CRACKED used to be the lame version of MAD, but since the Internet Age began, CRACKED is kicking MAD MAGAZINE's patootie again and again.

I snorted when I read that yesterday. The rest of the article was quite unamusing.

And that's not biatching about Cracked, because I find quite a lot of their stuff to be entertaining, or at least an interesting read that makes me look things up out in the real world to find out how much of what was in the article that's correct.

Cracked.com is the reason why I'm currently trying to work out how to cover Prypiat, Izu Islands and Centralia in one vacation.

Because I rather want to cover the coolest places where you have to wear a hazmat/radiation suit and carry oxygene tanks in one go. It's so tiresome to have to pack that stuff for every vacation.

If you pay them extra, do you think they could dress up as super-mutants for a game of real-life Fallout?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: MindAD Magazine died with William F. Gaines. Everything you have said is dead on.

I have a confession to make. I actually kind of enjoy the Cracked.com lists. I have spent a few days where all I did was go from one list to the next for hours upon hours.

Actually, I think I spend more time reading Cracked.com than I do Fark.

This isn't one of his best pieces, but Bucholz is definitely the funniest Cracked writer. His best pieces were Text Messages from Spencer Pratt While Being Tortured, and How to Put Your Balls on Eminem, A Practical Guide.

I did too until I ran out of things on there that interested me. It took a few weeks, but I'm mostly interested in the lists anyway.

Swaim annoys the piss out of me. He's like a no-wit, hack Michael Ian Black with a lame sense of ironic humor.

As long as this is turning into an AA meeting, I am also a fan of the Cracked. I'm old enough to remember the golden days of Mad when Cracked was just a horrendous wannabe. The first time I found out they had a website I went there just to see how horrible it was. Two hours later I realized that Cracked had become funny, Mad was a hollow shell of what it used to be, and that I was *really* late for class.

saddlesablazin 2009-10-29 01:50:47 AM
I actually liked the CRACKED mags better as a kid. They were a little bit more risque than MAD. I remember having my CRACKED mags confiscated when I would take them to elementary school.
