Wow, I remember these things. Batman would be in trouble and he'd get a fruitpie, then *BAM* the Joker would be in prison. As an aside, did anyone else think Twinkie the Kid might've been a little limp-wristed?

Drew [TotalFark] 2001-09-16 12:14:29 AM
I can't believe someone made an archive of these

Wolfanoz 2001-09-16 12:16:35 AM
If I'm not mistaken, Cap't Marvel died of A.I.D.S.

I have the issue somewhere.

Wow, nice to see one of my favorite sites up here.
Be sure to check out his Nintendo NES page -- it's brutally funny!

Twinkie the Kid is God

Rberry 2001-09-16 12:44:57 AM
Wolfanoz, Captain Marvel died of cancer

Wolfanoz 2001-09-16 12:51:14 AM
Thats right.. well, he died. AIDS, Cancer.. they're related

KowboyThrasher 2001-09-16 01:07:57 AM
You know, If I were a comic book illustrator, I'd rather sell my soul to satan than draw the Incredible hulk passing out fruit pies to kids.

Rberry and Wolfanz: is that the SHAZAM guy?

Ranxerox 2001-09-16 01:26:58 AM
KowboyThrasher, the Marvel Comic "Captain Marvel" is the one that died of cancer. This guy:

KowboyThrasher 2001-09-16 01:38:51 AM

KowboyThrasher 2001-09-16 01:39:27 AM
no no no no no no no
I did it right. WTF

FreddyFreedom 2001-09-16 02:15:14 AM
In the thirties, all one of them needed was a can of spinach.

Ranxerox 2001-09-16 02:59:51 AM
Kowboy, definitely not the guy with a lightning bolt on his chest and the gold cape. SHAZAM(derived from the first letter of each name): Wisdom of Solomon, Strength of Hercules, Stamina of Atlas, Power of Zeus, Courage of Achilles, Speed of Mercury.

Check out the Hawkman toon, Cupcakes and Concerts or whatever...last panel has a girl who likes the cream filled ones the best...did she turn anyone else on or was it just me?

Pulsarcat 2001-09-16 03:50:12 AM
Allright, my first article posted on Fark, I also sent in Seanbabys NES page.

Even with Seanbabys Volcano base super computer destroyed he's still damn funny.

This is obvious but, make sure you read the ones with reviews, they have all the insanty and eight times the humor

Pulsarcat 2001-09-16 03:52:47 AM
Not being a huge comic book reader (and also not born yet when these came out) but in none fruit pie comics could the Hulk walk more than three steps without smashing something?

Pulsarcat 2001-09-16 03:57:51 AM
whoops, it should say Non fruit pie comics.

I'm still drunk off my own sense of self importance.

Duratuss 2001-09-16 04:38:03 AM
Comic book heros of today now use Fur Pie.

Duratuss 2001-09-16 04:43:51 AM
Yes, Everyday before our super hero takes on the world and villains he likes to bite into a juicy slice of fur pie.... YUM.

Xander 2001-09-16 05:45:35 AM
The Preacher parody ROCKS! Thats all I have to say...

fouff 2001-09-16 05:53:34 AM
IckyMettle: I think you mean content... but anyways, when was the last time Seanbaby updated? He's racing with Matt from X-E to see which UGO pop-culture site can drift into oblivion first. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy both of their writings... but both of their pages seem static. Lowtax (with the help of Zack) constantly keeps SomethingAwful updated.

Pulsarcat 2001-09-16 07:09:31 AM
Last time he (Seanbaby) updated was September 4th, sadly, that was to tell us that his computer is broken and he'd be updating shortly.

The world hilarity army (WHA) may have lost one of it's finest soldiers.

meat 2001-09-16 07:52:13 AM
kowboy: what the hell were you doing? your image posts just showed up as . that can't be right.

meat 2001-09-16 07:52:55 AM
oops. forgot to turn off html. anyway, the source just shows "<img>", which, as i said, can't be right.

dogbone 2001-09-16 10:26:50 AM
It's good that these seventies heroes' agents got them to do these, 'cause now they're living phat on the endorsement dough.

LordCrank 2001-09-16 12:25:22 PM
goddamn you, now i want a fruit pie...

Cid_Highwind 2001-09-16 12:34:21 PM
Ah, yes, the days when heroes just kicked ass all day and didn't have these stupid psychological angst...

Yawgmoth 2001-09-16 01:04:55 PM
"The Rock just wants to know one thing....do you like...Pie?"

Y. Dload 2001-09-16 01:37:46 PM
I like the page where Seanbaby makes fun of reader's mail and guestbook entries better.

Wolfanoz 2001-09-16 05:55:45 PM
Yeah, the Rock should be the sponsor for Hostess...pies?

Augie Ben Doggie 2001-09-16 08:08:37 PM

OminatorX 2001-09-16 08:43:49 PM
Northstar, one of the members of Alpha Flight died of AIDS.

LadyAlexa 2001-09-16 11:24:11 PM
Oh man, I have a whole LOT of comics from the 70s (I collect them). I thought the Hostess ads were so cheesy it wasn't even funny! Like Batgirl vs. Jet Set Jessie, Flash vs. the Bureac-Rat, all that kind of crap.

Some of my comics btw have some dumb ads featuring OJ Simpson. Wonder if I should use my scanner and printer to copy them and make dartboards out of them....
