I'm a Christian, and even I think this was a horrible attempt at evangelizing. The girl obviously doesn't know anything about her friend's culture, which is the basic thing you have to do to befriend someone, let alone try and convert them. And videotaping it to put up on YouTube? No. Just no.

I attended a private Baptist school for 8th grade in Texas and I can assure you that there are bus loads of kids like this down there. Of my 8th grade class, those who moved on to public high school, 2 attempted suicide (1 succeeded) after the culture shock of entering the real world. These kids are very sheltered and have no concept of different cultures.

reminds of me all those times those christian churches sent out their "youth groups" to try to recruit their friends to their church.

People say, "it's good satire when you can't tell it's satire." But I say, if christians are really that dumb, then post videos of them being dumb and lets laugh at that. Why laugh at a straw man? I could make a video where I act out the stereotype that christians have of atheists - maybe I'd abuse a dog or something and say, "so what? you can't stop me and there's no objective morality so I'll kill this dog if I want to."

I've worked with quite a few Indians, and most of them had similar accents. A couple of them were quite a bit thicker than that.

I grew up mormon in utah. Occasionally I would meet someone who was not mormon (yes, there are people who are not mormon in utah). The younger I was when I was in this situation having a similar conversation, the more it would end up similar to this.

Kids are told what is right and of horrible consequences of not being right. With little knowledge of how everything works one resorts to really bad debate tactics and dramatic consequences, like losing friends.

I grew up. I changed. I got better. But this video doesn't surprise me, just reminds me of where I came from.

My guess is her and her "normal" friend really are that dumb about geography and other cultures and her own religion. I know a few people like her myself and they scare me with the ability to survive such epic stupidity. A lot of evangelicals when they try to convert you act like you're stupid for not believing what they do. They're asking people to give up what they've been taught their whole lives on their word alone and then get confused when you don't. And they know nothing about other religions or cultures.
