Actually they're both wrong. A franchise owner (Jim Delligatti) in Pittsburgh developed the Big Mac in its entirety. He sold over a thousand before McD's stopped by and decided to buy his recipe and make it an official product all across the chain. I don't know what the hell this distributor can claim credit for other than being the company that first got contracted to produce it in mass quantities.
