someahole: Back in college I had a roommate that was uncut. He confessed that he felt that it was definitely a detriment to his sex life. Not only did many US women find it unnerving, but he was also constantly getting yeast infections. At one point he confessed that he and his girlfriend had been passing back and forth the same yeast infection for several months.

As is usual in cases like this, it seems that his problem was not being uncut, but simply poor hygiene (either that or his girl was a damn nasty skank). Seriously, if you're uncut, just wash it. It's really not any bigger of a deal than a woman having to manage her constantly-moist parts. Moist and covered doesn't mean gross and stanky.

From USA Today:

Women whose sexual partners are circumcised are less likely to develop cervical cancer than the partners of uncircumcised men, concludes a report out today.

The difference was statistically significant only in the partners of men considered to be at high risk for infection with human papillomavirus, or HPV, according to the study in The New England Journal of Medicine. Such men had had at least six sexual partners in their lifetime, beginning before age 17.

HPV causes genital warts in men and women, and certain strains cause virtually all cervical cancers. HPV also has been linked to cancers of the vagina, anus and penis.

The new report is based on 1,913 couples in five countries. All were married or in a stable relationship for at least six months. Half of the women had cervical cancer, and 370 of the men were circumcised. Worldwide, an estimated one in four men are circumcised.

Researchers interviewed all of the men and got samples of penile cells from 1,524. The scientists tested the samples for HPV.

After accounting for such factors as age at first intercourse and lifetime number of sexual partners, circumcised men were only about a third as likely as uncircumcised men to test positive for HPV. The authors speculate that circumcision, which involves removal of the foreskin, minimizes the area of the penis vulnerable to HPV infection.

On the whole, partners of circumcised men were about 25% less likely to have cervical cancer than partners of uncircumcised men, a difference that was not statistically significant. But among women in relationships with men at high risk for HPV, those with circumcised partners were 80% less likely to have cervical cancer.

Co-author Keerti Shah, a virologist at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, notes that other research suggests that circumcision also reduces men's risk of infection with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.

"This may be something that may be true for many sexually transmitted infections," Shah says.

griffer: CrazyCracka420: Considering it's not useless, or ugly, I would not.

That's like your opinion.

What about ears? The point is, there is no reason to do it.

Other than conformity.

And it damages the sexual function of the penis. This is medical fact.

BUT KEEP ON CUTTING YOUR SINS DICKS BECAUSE YOU HAD YOUR MANGLED!

The foreskin of the father are not tolerated on the son, either, i see.

I don't think any circumcised men have problems cumming. I don't consider it mangled, it looks like your penis when you're hard, except mine doesn't have skin there.

Look, I already conceded there's really no difference at all in how women (even in the US) view penises. There's really no benefit in a modern country, to being circ'ed. I just like the look, and am used to it. I would do the same for my son, because e i like the look of my clean dick. I don't see what the big deal is if you want to leave it, or want to chop it. It's a little flap of skin.

If you want to talk about it desensitizing the penis, I can tell you, I've got a boner about 85% of the day, and I can cum without any problems.

I'm telling you, there's really no difference at all, it's just aesthetic opinion.

Doing it to a baby is different than having a grown man get circ'ed. Adult male circumcision is hell, you get a boner and you can get the stitches to come out...it's painful, and you have a doc coming at your penis with a knife.

Parents are deciding for their kids whether or not they'll be circ'ed for life. If you circ them, or not, I can tell you they won't get the procedure done later in life (there's no point in doing it, unless it's medical).

Do I need to draw a diagram? If you're uncut as an infant, you can either get cut as an adult or not. If you're cut as an infant, end of the line.

Why would they not see all the obvious benefits of circumcision you're talking about and get it done?

Unmoist and uncovered also means less sensitivity. For the girls: Imagine if you had to hold your outer (and inner, if they're big like that) labia open until everything gets nice and dry. Now try touching your parts and see if you experience nearly as intense a feeling. You won't. It's like having chapped lips or dry hands. This is why we use lube.

God, you're f*cking dense. I didn't say there were benefits of being circ'ed, now did I? Do I need to draw you a diagram? No adult male in their right mind would get circ'ed. Who would make a conscious choice to let a doc come at their penis with a knife? The post-op is horrible and complicated...of course they're not going to go through circumcision as an adult...

So now that I've explained that getting circ'ed as an adult, is really a non-sequitar, would you care to draw that diagram for me?

If you circ your kid, he's circ'ed for life, if you don't, he's gonna be uncirc'ed for life (unless it's medically necessary). I've already explained why. If you disagree, you're either not an adult male with a penis, or you really believe there are advantages to being circ'ed (which there are not, besides aesthetic reasons).

CrazyCracka420: Well I don't know any women who "clean" their vaginas, if they do that, it can take away the natural bacteria that keeps them balanced.

Soap's stupid, and douching is ridiculously idiotic, but a rinse (of the outer/inner labia, not the vaginal canal itself) with plain water in the shower doesn't hurt anything. And if a woman is stanky, it's a useful step (though she should really seek out antibiotics if she's that rank).

crm114: It wasn't the disagreement that was a troll, it was bringing up the Catholic priesthood abuse when it had nothing to do with the subject at hand. Those cases involve alter boys and such who, quite obviously, can remember the abuse and thus talk about it. I don't know one person who was circumcised as a baby and remembers the pain or trauma, and to equate circumcision with sexual abuse is pretty damn retarded in terms of long term effects and the motivation behind them.

/damn you for making me be serious in a thread that's this much fun...for God's sake I got to type the phrase "take a tequila shot out of your penis" earlier

Oh, lighten up. I was referencing repressed memories against the silly argument that if you don't remember something, it doesn't count. As for it being sexual abuse, it's ritualistic/cosmetic genital mutilation of a baby. I'd say that's sexual abuse.

CrazyCracka420: How is that bad logic? I don't think any adult male in their right mind would get circumcised, and that's including those like myself, who are circ'ed already (if we were to pretend we weren't). If that's the case (which I guarantee it is), then how is it giving your baby a choice to leave them uncircumcised? They aren't going to go out and get circ'ed, because (as I already said, and I think any male would agree), a dude's not gonna go out and let a doc come at his penis with a knife. The post-op is horrible for circumcision, the only way someone would do it as an adult, is for medical reasons.

You can argue all you want about whether or not to circ your baby, but don't give me the copout that "you're giving them a choice", that's bullsh*t, and anyone in their right mind knows it.

Your argument is that, because one of the options is so unattractive that nobody would choose it, not forcing that option on a child, and allowing that child to make the decision for themselves, is not a choice.

You could use that argument about any possible choice where one option is obviously unattractive.
