TonnageVT: Why would anyone but Steeler fans want to relive last season??? "Oh man, that was a great season until that final game, I want to watch every game, 'cause my team played so great until the end...too bad they dropped that last game!"

I'd say Cardinals and Dolphins fans would be on that list. Those teams did much better than anybody expected, and there is a decent chance neither team reaches the same level of success in the coming years, too...

And the most sad thing is that when you are in the stadium, all you hear are comments on how they wish the owner (William Clay Ford Sr aka WCF) would just die already. I can picture it now when the old guy finally passes (although I think he has "zombie" in his genes and he may never die), the crowd will give a thunderous booooo (not booo-urns). It will be totally classless, but justified based upon 50 years of failure as an owner.

/The day WCF bought the franchise should have been the first clue, since it was the day JFK was assassinated.
//Great, I'm getting pissed off a month before training camp.

timboalogo: Matthew Stafford, anyone?

Who is, "A quarterback who will be on his back on an average of 1.6 seconds from the snap," Alex?

I live here, and they're the team on TV. So here's my wish for 2009-2010...

They could not conceivably win any more than 5 games in the most remote possible good scenario. I believe a 3-13 season is plausible, but why on Earth tune in to watch that?

I very much want them to go the extra mile and lose their first 10 games. That will clinch the NFL's longest losing streak of all time, even more than the expansion Tampa Bay Bucs.

That would be riveting. But 3-13 football would be as dull as dishwater. You either compete for .500, do better (up to a playoff berth and beyond), or lose them all, in my opinion.

Harry Hopkins: are we sure it wasn't a spelling mistake and that they didn't mean to say:

revile the 2008 season

I'm now going back and reading the comments. Thread over.

Packers fan, too and..... fark the Vikings. Did they think their "relationship" would be different?

//Fark Favre, too.

octopied: S.A.S.Q.U.A.T.C.H.: You better be a hockey fan if you live in Detroit.

Why do you think its called Hockeytown?

Perhaps the "Relive the season" is targeted at fans that hate the Lions?

So they're making an ad for God?

Stroke_N_Focus: browneye: The Lions, on the other hand, have NEVER, ever, ever been even decent. They will almost certainly still suck in the next 3-5 years.

that's the difference.

Ummm yes they have.

Detroit Lions

NFL Champions: 1935, 1952, 1953, 1957

Which means that the last championship the Lions won was fifty-two years ago.

And in all of the last fifty-two years, the Detroit Lions have have won exactly one playoff game.

Pitiful is only the beginning of how to describe the Detroit Lions

Seriously.

If you werent around in the 50's the lions were NEVER interesting except for one guy...

Otherwise..the lions get the mercy flush.

Ummmm.... Dick "Night Train" Lane would like a word with you...

/as well as Charlie Sanders....

I'm sorry, but as great as Night Train, Sanders, etc. were back in the day, I seriously doubt there were many people who went to a Lions game only to watch them play. Whereas I know a lot of people - beginning with my brother and I - who would go to a Lions game only and specifically to watch Barry Sanders play.

/And neither I or my brother have been to a Lions game since Barry Sanders retired.
//And at the rate they're going, we probably never will.
