Queen Dalek: thomps is clearly a White Sux fan with south side math skilz.

I was speaking more of your education.

elvisbloom: Another unemployed Cubs fan. There is a new one everyday.

Too soon?

I'd say yes, but Yosh is technically not unemployed since he retired. Maybe there is an opening as a clubhouse attendant.

thomps: jaimejaim: seriously, fark that guy. the cubs haven't won a world series since he started working there.

Nice math. 2008 - 1908 = 100 years not 65. Go to the back of the line, rtard.

you might want to map out my statement, maybe draw a chart or something, then get back to me about who the rtard is.

How's this for a roadmap to your "comment". I guess it makes sense that a Cubs fan is going to look to the equipment manager to win a world series. I guess you're right in that the fault lies with those peripheral "players" as to why they haven't won a WS in a 100 years. Must be that just about everything about Chicago Cubs sucks...should have had Yosh working for the White Sox. Maybe then the Cubs would have won a WS...or three.

i think you're right. i'm glad we can come to an agreement after a frank discussion about this very serious theory.

FeeltheIllinoise: cubs suck and their fans are just about the lowest form of life, right beside red sox fans.

Well it's not like there is another major league baseball team in the Chicago area worth rooting for, unless you count the Brewers.

/I don't

realbigfun: That's why the Cubs can't win the World Series. And the goat.

I know, that's the worst thing about the Cubs, they'll never win the goat, evar.

There is actually one that has one a world series in the last decade, but I guess being a Cubs fan, you would have no interest in a team that actually wins.

They used to be called "clubhouse boys" before the outbreak of the current epidemic of pretentious job titles.

Joe Garagiola, who played for the Cubs in 1953 and 1954 before moving on to his career as an announcer, and who knew Mr. Kawano, called clubhouse boys "combination valet, equipment expert, loan company, [and] buffer."

Lando Lincoln:
So he might be like one of those old guys that is bored and lonely at home, so he goes and hangs out at places where people are working, and tries to have endless conversations with the workers, basically reducing productivity.

Or, you know...he could have made some pretty good friends that he'd like to visit. If he worked there for 65 years, I'm sure he knows when work needs to get done and when he needs to get going.

I can only assume you are referring to the White Sox, but everyone knows they don't play real baseball in the American League. In baseball, everyone that plays the field swings a bat.

FormlessOne 2009-07-14 05:36:11 PM
I can just imagine the reaction of the head of security upon hearing just who they threw out...

"You did WHAT? C'mere... now, read to me the name on the huge friggin' banner near the office. C'mere... that's the same name as on the clubhouse, right? Now, read the name you wrote down in your report...

Yeah, you're fired. You're fired, your two buddies are fired, hell, I'm probably fired once I file my report. No, you can't have a reference. Get the hell out of my office, pack up your gear, and don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out."

Yeah, I'm not so sure about that one. Some of these old guys are so desperate for human interaction they just completely ignore the fact that they're at a place of business.

There's not enough information to draw any solid conclusion. Personally, I'd side with the old guy and just eat the loss in productivity. But I'm a pushover.

Being well on the way to two in a row takes some work. Nice to see you already got started.

Well, it's nice to know that it's not just the people in the stands who are completely oblivious to the Cubs' heritage and past. Even people who work for them seem to be there just to hang out and not have a clue as to what's actually going on with the team.

So no, I was not saying root for a winning team because they win. Get it?
