What jerks, taking pics of fellow soldiers while they showered.

Hope they get significant time in PMITA showers.

/Although they'll probably only get Article 15s.

They've been charged: That means court martial, if I recall correctly.

Though a field grade Article 15 would be pretty nasty also. Here are the relevant punishments:

* Restriction for not more than 60 days
* Extra duties for not more than 45 days
* Restriction with extra duties for not more than 45 days
* Correctional Custody for not more than 30 days (only if accused is in the grades E-3 and below)
* Forfeiture of one half of base pay for two months
* Reduction by one grade if E-5 (all services) or E-6 (all services except USMC) or reduction to E-1 (USA and USAF E-4 and below.)
* Admonition or reprimand, either written or verbal.

You can make a come-back from a summary or even a company grade Article 15, but it's *MUCH* tougher from a field grade.

That's the point, apparently.

I'll be perfectly honest: I received three summary Article 15's in my military career. One was for leaving a locker unlocked, one was for having a bottle of schnapps in my room, and one was technically for drinking while underage, but it was really because I was drinking on the roof of the barracks (there is a saga attached to that last one).

Despite that, I still managed to get my Good Conduct Medal and ETS as an E-4.

I'm very curious as to how that happened. In the Marines, we have to serve 3 full years without any NJP/Article 15/Office Hours/What-Have-You in order to get our good cookie. No, really, is it different for each service?

Tying off the condom and FedExing it to the Pope wouldn't be dishonorable, would it? Disgusting, maybe but not dishonorable.

And the ranks are a SGT and a SPC, unlike what subby wants you to believe and even tho I had not read the article prior to my last comment, it's still pretty close to true.

Someone (not us) has a provision for special rules during certain kinds of deployment or summat.

AF or Army, I think.

Ummmm, FYI this isn't leaving a locker unlocked...This is breaking the freakin LAW (Federal LAW), REALLY don't think they can recover a military career from this one... Trust me

Not that hard to bounce back from a "Field Grade" if you are on a 4 or 6 year enlistment and it happens early in your career. I was always told it would keep you from reaching E-7 though. Hehe I got a Company Grade for having Copenhagen in my wall locker in Basic. Only trouble I had in my entire career. Still extra duty sux especially in basic training.

What's with all the dead noise in this thread? Focus, people. Focus! Somebody needs to answer the challenge.

/also wouldn't mind more pics of hot military type women.
//sort of a "what an attractive female soldier that these guys would have taken pics of might look like."

Maxor 2009-07-14 12:26:09 PM
It depends alot on the circumstances, where you are in your enlistment, and what exactly they decide to do to you. It also depends on how much you choose to fight it. If they take the article 15 from this they'll still likely end up with an honorable discharge and probably be offered reenlistment. Though since it made national news I doubt it stops there. This is going before a court martial.

I've actually seen people get hit with a full fledged courtmartial be found guilty and still retire with full benfiets. That guy did take a serious beating though heavy pay docking and some extra duty, busted from senior master down to staff. Retired 3 years later as a tech.

No.

First, summaries don't follow you to a new unit (at least they didn't back then). That means that the new unit has no idea whether you had them or not. Kind of a "don't ask, don't tell" policy.

Second, in a 4 year hitch there is enough time to amass 3 solid years of being a good boy while still having had your pee-pee slapped thrice.
