Deucednuisance: glassa: I just don't know where I could ever get garlic ice cream.

Here: The Stinking Rose

And Here: Gilroy Garlic Festival

You're Welcome! :-)

Oh My Lord...sounds like Heaven! But there's no Stinking Rose in Missouri :-(((((

If I ever get back to California, I'll have to remember that place!

adognamedcat: Durian has never produced a smile from anyone who has ever smelled or tasted it.

You are dead wrong there. When the warm weather hits, one of my first stops is Chinatown Ice Cream Factory for ice cream made with fresh durian. Delicious! Though it sells out fast, and many times I have to settle for pandan.

flippermack: this one's a hit in the philippines. it's made from a yam variety.

Looks like taro served in a young coconut. That would be spectacular.

Rootbzzr: an ice cream shop I know sells black licorice ice cream. Yum, yum, yum!

That I would love to try.

The tastiest, most complex ice cream flavors I've ever had were from Jeni's Ice Cream in Columbus, OH. Had it on a trip visiting a friend, and it's seriously fantastic.

\\Bourbon Buttered Pecan....good lord, that's awesome.
\glad I don't live there - would eat way too much of it.

At least Japan can say they make some good things. Electronics, cars, entertaining Godzilla movies...ice cream is not one of them.

Thanks for mentioning Jeni's, I was about to do that. I live here in Columbus and can attest to the fantastic flavors they do, and most are seasonal. Do yourself a favor and get some shipped, or hit it next time you're in town!

Two words: green tea.

Molly Moon's here in Seattle has delicious flavors that, while not gross by any means, are certainly less common. My favorite is Salted Caramel but I also enjoy Balsamic Strawberry and Pomegranate Curry. They did an excellent bacon-flavored one for a while. Another (new) ice cream joint in my neighborhood is serving up a nice Elysian Stout ice cream and, bless their hearts, Snickerdoodle.

I remember a story from a long time ago of an ice cream product that was coming out into the market. It was a chocolate ice-cream but it contained roasted watermelon seeds and corn. It was to be called Icecrement.

For all of you that want some astronaut ice cream but don't have anywhere to get it locally, you can try ordering some from here. (pops)

YES YOU ARE

geedavey: Coiled Hot 1: That chicken fried ice cream looks awesome. No, I'm not fat.

funny, 'cause you look fat.

If being 5 foot 2 inches and 350 lbs. is fat then I'm guilty.

If having a BMI of 64 isn't fat, I don't know what is. Obesity Class IV starts at 50, and is also known as "Super Morbidly Obese."

Dude, Chill. I was just messing with them. I'm 6 foot 1" 185.

Anyone ever have an astronaut ice cream sandwich? Those things are like Super Oreos, just a little crispy and crunchy.

Mandapants: Porous Horace: Blue Fudge from St-Aubin.
Both no longer exist, except in fond memory.

WOW! St Aubin Sur Mer, Normandy?? Never thought I'd ever run across another human being who'd been there.

/Jan 1991-April 1991
//no ice cream; winter
///first winter it had snowed in a long time
////thought we were getting away from snow

Well, um... keep running :)

I was referring to St_Aubin ice cream parlour which was on Laurentian (now Marcel Laurin) blvd, in St-Laurent (a suburb of Montreal), Quebec. I imagine that it and the nearby St-Aubin street (which I did live on for a couple of years, many years later) were named after a saint. My guess is "Aubin".

Blue Fudge was a tastalicious discovery.
Seemed to never be hard-frozen, melted quickly.
It's one thing from my childhood I don't think I'll ever have again. :(

I'm assured by my sister who spent some time in South America that salmon and pepperoni (separate, not mixed together) ice creams are a wonderful savoury snack on a hot day. I'd try the horsemeat one, for sure.

The local ice cream shop here has a black pepper vanilla ice cream. It's actually awesome, and my current favorite.
