I personally would have been much happier had he focused less on bailouts and more on public works and spending for infrastructure and heavy industry modernization and maintenance, education, and the like. Cap-and-trade is counterproductive to the need for America to modernize its heavy industry and infrastructure, in my opinion. Health care reform needs to happen, and if done right could be integrated into a larger public works scheme, but that won't happen.
