No, it is that the younger generations are raised violently liberal and anything they do not agree with is attacked. You see it in public schools, on college campuses and in the media. It's more likely than you think. Bush and Rove convinced them they should participate in civil elections, and now that they have the apparatus in place, thanks to faith-based initiatives, and the looney pay-for-play church leaders to tell them who to vote for, all they need is a candidate to hitch their wagons to. But that candidate must be hella fundie crazy, and only Huckabee and Palin meet that criteria. Both are unelectable in a general elections thanks to, well, GW Bush and a tide of anti-fundamentalism.
