I'm surprised a singularity didn't ensue.

Or maybe it did, and we're all a figment of deranged imagination.

Palin has an audience for as long as she desires one. Which is exactly the problem: the longer she talks, the longer it takes for the GOP to divest themselves of her particular brand of stupid, taking them that much longer to recover.

The economy may suck, but even if Obama doesn't have it on the turnaround by the midterms, the GOP still has to field credible opposition or else Obama has extra time gifted to him.

The problem is that Palin speaks to those who the Republican's identify as their "base".

If the Republicans embrace Palin to appease their base, they lose elections.

If the Republicans reject Palin and alienate their base, they lose elections.

You can lol at skookum all you want, but keep in mind that the same folks who invented zero & such as are now the third-world losers whose country is occupied by Americans. In a few hundred years (if not sooner) the Christians will have taken over America and someday people will wonder, "golly, how'd those backwater religious-freak retards ever have a culture that allowed them to rule the world/create microchips?"

Americans will fight such insults to their dominance by running to join any disturbance to hoist signs and chant slogans at every opportunity, especially if it involves TV cameras.

You're wrong.
Their base (racists, hillbillies, Christian nutcases. But I repeat myself) will never vote Republican, so alienating them is no big deal. They hate Democrats more than they love Republicans.

More people turned out at the rallies to see Palin than McCain. She was the reason the Republican ticket showed any sign of life in the last election.

W/o Palin, it's easy to imagine the Republican base staying home on election night, or, more likely, voting 3rd party

Currently, yes. Question is, which path results in them losing elections for a longer period.

Christianity is actually becoming less important.
Soon this great nation will be de-Christianized.
I, for one, look forward towards a golden age of science and reason.

Sorry buddy but going after a groups religion is a bad idea. In Fly over country and down south, Christianity is huge. Also, look at the mega churches and christian tv networks. The only way to de-christianize America would require Soviet style programs, and I do not think the progressive movement is that far down the road to serfdom.

Well, we'll still be a majority Christian nation for the foreseeable future, so in the empirical sense, I disagree. In spirit, though, I get you. The religion will still be there; it's simply being de-emphasized.

Well we'll just have to see. As it stands now, science is impossible since people who believe in god still exist.
