TheAbstractor: thus it unfolds.

Is that last one Breughel or Bosch? It doesn't look quite farked up enough to be Bosch, but there's definitely a thematic overlap in some of Breughel's darker works.

My mom had a solution for things like that -- snatch the kid up, slap the knife away and turn his arse red with her hand. My Grandmother, a large woman who survived the Great Depression and who even in the 60s wore those heavy, black leather lace up shoes and an apron wouldn't have run from a knife carrying two year old. She'd either have just belted the kid across the room or snatched the blade away and swatted him on his arse hard enough so he'd never try it again.

My mom had a second line of defense: she'd tell my dad when he got home from work. Dad didn't put up with a bunch of stupid krap and one thing for sure, none of us kids better ever lay a hand on mom. Dad was an ex-boxer. Even in middle age, he had lightening reflexes.

Chasing mom or grandmom with a knife and then throwing things would certainly have gotten us another paddling and then being confined to our room for some time. He understood a lot and did a lot of talking to us kids, but he did have his limits.

Besides, I never saw my grandma run from anything. She was one of those stout, sturdy women you see in old black and white pictures, with the grim face and arms built up from hand making everything and stoking wood or coal stoves, washing years of laundry on a wash board, ironing cloths, hanging them up to dry, plucking chickens and doing farm work.

within this statement lies the key to the problem inherent in this situation. there is no "wait till dad gets home" in this household. the "alpha male" if you will is less than 10. not good for the family atmosphere. now, i am not saying that being raised by a single mom is bad or anything, but in this case, i think the answer is obvious.

Oznog: Bathia_Mapes: I'm hazarding a guess here that if this article is true, then it was probably Elijah, the oldest boy who was wielding the knife. Again, that's if there is a grain of truth to this story. However, Nadya & her mother are both AWs, so I have my doubts.

Aiden is the autistic one prone to throwing tantrums, fits, and hitting/biting. I wouldn't be all that shocked if he ran around with a knife. She also coddles him above all the others. Extra car, special care, is one thing, but I think she may be making it worse.

You have followed this closely, what's in it for you?

obscure? I hope so.

OK, enough of trying to make lame jokes, this is serious.

That poor old woman! FSM save what is ever left of her miserable life. How can anyone treat their poor old mother like that? That's elder abuse. She's 69 years old, she's done her duty. The old soul is probably scared to death if she leaves, death and destruction will ensue. Someone call the local agency on aging and get her the hell out of that mad house.

I am so ps'ed off at that big lipped attention whore. I have visions of a ten ton weight ala Monty Python falling on her.

Perez Hilton steals all his content from other sources. ProTip: Always do a quick search to find the original story, which in this case was the National Enquirer, to avoid having to link to that ignorant a@@ hole Perez.
P.S. The story was even posted on the blog on Octomom's own website.

Well besides the idea that it would be exploited for political reasons (i.e. you can't have kids because you don't agree with me on position x), the rest of the world is already out breeding the West by a lot.

And with the way human societies are setup, carelessly breeding is rewarded. No matter how much progress the "smarter" societies make, others can benefit and learn from that progress made with minimal effort.

Darwin rewards the best breeders, not the best of the breed.

Pieter Brueghel the Elder was a big fan of Bosch's, actually. Early works like Proverbs/The Blue Cloak show a similar (though less dark) kind of humor, Dulle Griet (Mad Meg) gets darker and more Boschian, including the mashup demons, and works like the Triump of Death (one of my favorites) and Fall of the Rebel Angels are very similar to Bosch. He made copies of Bosch engravings, and I quote: "It has been assumed that Bruegel's chief reason for imitating Bosch in his graphic work was a commercial one: Bosch was simply more popular than Bruegel, and therefore engravings in the Bosch manner were more marketable than his own prints.' Of course, Bruegel's emulation of the elder artist's style may have been as much an affectionate homage, as it was an opportunistic money-earner."

Octotwart's got those empty pools for eyes that you just know means she hasn't been on Planet Earth for a very long time. For all we know, she could confuse her children for porcelain statuettes that spit government capital into her pocket every 30 days. I give it 3 years before police stumble upon the corpses of her children stuffed, polished to a grisly shine, and decorating her government-funded marble mantle.

beoswulf: Why hasn't some state child protection agency dragged random men into court and got them forcibly appointed as fathers? Think about what's in the best interest of the children. This isn't much different than the current system of forcing men to pay child support for kids that aren't theirs.

Go after the farking doctor who is responsible for her... quattuordecospawn? Given if I recall the train wreck correctly the same doctor "helped" with the other kids too.

You're right, so let's compromise. You can have all the kids you want, as long as you don't expect a cent from the government. Money for hardship yes, but not long-term support.

Again, all the kids you want, but no help from the government. You can't have it both ways. I would go on, but I'd just be eloquently repeating myself.

THIS. My grandma would have beat my ass for this, and then washed the knife so she could carve whatever meat was cooked for dinner.

I've seen the video with Nadya and her mother. She's pretty passive and non-confrontational. Nadya turned and walked all over her with "aww right and what was I supposed to do? Let them destroy my embryos?" Mom knew this was wrong but just let Nadya talk.
