sabremkg: they keep provoking us in all these ways. why dont we do it back,im sure we got some hackers in the states that could fry their whole network in about a week...hint,hint C.I.A.

A crew of espresso slurping script kiddies can handle that job and they'll do it for bragging rights. This would save trillions in taxpayer dollars.

OBVIOUS tag would have been appropriate IMHO.

Question: Since US defense sites were attacked, could this constitute and Act of War if it were proven that it was the NK Army that perpetrated these attacks?

Thatguy: dmike: Thatguy: The official press agency of N. Korea follows me on twitter (I know, I know) for reasons I don't understand. But I do enjoy making fun of them.

OK, why? What do you twitter about?

Plans. Space plans.

You have my interest. Do you tweet as Thatguy or some other name?

Just cut the undersea cable between NK and China.

Let them hack in 56K over the land.

It would be an act of war if anything was seriously compromised. DoS attacks are annoying, like a fly that won't go away. This just looks like the actions of a bunch of teenagers looking for attention.

Looks more like an incompetent government, the US. It was done with the freaking Doomsday virus from like eight years ago. Makes me wonder what a real government is doing that isn't being detected. How much did we devote to Cyber-Security? Didn't the NSA take this shiat over and we're still smacked by an eight year old virus?

All of our routers and other network infrastructure are made in China. What is the probability that they have some back doors built into those systems to spy on us? The United States Government needs to invest in developing a computer industry that builds 100% USA made products. It's ridiculous to not have that other than the prices are lower due to cheap, slave labor.

The government doesn't use things built in China for critical infrastructure anymore. Perhaps you should read up on the latest Acquisitions process.

Tenebreux: When I lived in Communist Russia, there were only two channels on TV. One was blatantly fantastical state propaganda, the other channel was a stern and disapproving KGB official behind a desk, who would suggest you changed the channel, about once every 3 or so minutes. I remember in those days, walking into a store in Moscow and despite seeing empty shelves, asking if they had any bacon. "No comrade. You want across the road. This is a bakery. We don't have any bread". A friend of mines uncle had a near death experience (in every sense of the way), one night he was lying awake worrying about his heart troubles and his inability to get medicines, when he hears the door of his house being kicked in, and loud feet stomping towards his bedroom door which also gets kicked in, he hides behinds his sheets and says "Who's that?" and the answer comes back "IT IS I, THE ANTHROPOMORPHIC PERSONIFICATION OF DEATH, YOUR MORTALITY MADE FLESH" and my friends Uncle relaxed immediately (which probably saved him) "Thank the Saints.." says he, "I thought you were the KGB.".

Cool story, 'Breaux.

In seriousness, did anyone have issues connecting to any of the PACER sites this week? I found a few of the PACER servers to be slow/down over the past week, to the point that it felt like a DoS attack was occurring. Can anyone confirm/deny without being too specific?
