It cost €1 to do this and there were a lot of ruddy-faced country children queueing to do it even though there was no prize.

Punching bags only move a tiny bit, and you're never really close enough for it's range to hit you, and they also don't have mechanical parts in them. So from the sounds of it it is rigged to hit whoever is using it.

I remember these from back in the day. The arm swings back down after you hit it but moves slowly when doing so.
