I loved that episode, with the Barbie Con attendees walking around like Zombies moaning "NRFB! NRFB!"

Offhand I have no idea. Someone on the Den Of Angels dollfie message board modded him out. For being what he is, he's adorable.

SgtArkie: what is this /b/ you speak of?

This is the story of the founding of two great websites, 4chan.org and Fark.com.

Within Fark.com, commenters prided themselves on intellectualism, snark, and the justification of child molestation (see last week's thread, re: Fark Child Molester Brigade). The main purpose of the site was as a snarky news aggregator, safe for work except for off-site links, at least superficially.

4chan.org, on the other hand, was a collection of lettered forums wherein most users post anonymously. Its flagship forum became /b/, for Random. It prides itself on coordinating large-scale troublemaking on the Net, fostering a Wild West sensibility and freedom, and engaging in the most hostile banter imaginable on every subject from girls, to suicide..... to girls committing suicide.

Fark.com and 4chan.org had some overlap, but in general Fark.com was taken to be the more intellectual, family-friendly, and elite site - also having a set purpose, that of aggregating news. The main selling point is that the directionality allows a large audience to partake without being offended; however, Fark still has a very libertarian sensibility and is more 4chan's "good twin," personality-wise, than it would like to admit. Both sites relish in creating and diffusing memes, and both sites are watched for cultural and political developments - albeit by very different audiences.

What is clear is that if one wants to be "in the know" re: the Interwebs, one must dabble in both Fark.com and 4chan.org at some point.

/ With 4chan, just make sure you have your barf bag handy.

Ringshadow: icegryphon: well, heck, Now to show my weeaboo side I must say I only unbox my Anime figures to check for damage, afterward back in the box the majority go. Ashamed I just admited that.

Hey, I understand. I've broken two EVA Unit Zeros so far so I must admit, I may just start leaving them in the damn box.

/seriously, why is it always EVA Unit Zero that breaks?
//it's weird

From my vague recollections of the series, isn't that pretty un-ironic?

TheHopeDiamond: Foolish person. It IS a toy, therefore why would I choose to display a piece of cardboard?

And I ripped it open just to piss off losers like you :D

Ah, now it makes perfect sense. You're 12, and when you're done playing with your little plastic toys, you like to insult random strangers on the Internet. Impulse control is still far off in the future, somewhere beyond the mythical 'GED'.

Good luck with all that.

I used to collect sci-fi action figures and then I'd play with them. I loved it so I begged my parents for more. I would get them only on Christmas and my parents were poor, so it was very special for me. Then I was informed of "collector" value. I quit playing with them and taking them out of the box. I got so bored on christmas looking at figures I could never have any fun with them. I stopped collecting them and told my parents to not worry about me on Christmas anymore, to spend more on my siblings. Gift getting, in general, has simply sucked since then.

Toys are more fun when you play with them.

The most disturbing part of the article was the revelation that some tickets to this thing cost $400.00. $400 to look at Barbies all day long????? What recession?
/hubby works at GM dealership so excuse the incredulity
//goes back to recycling Wal-Mart bags as trash can liners and shopping yard sales
///but not buying any Barbies at said yard sales thenkyewverymuch
