Isn't it rather obvious? To cash in on all this exposure, just like Sarah is trying to do. He's a good-looking guy now known for knocking up Sarah Palin's daughter. Sure he may never become rich and famous from it, but there are people out there willing to give him money for something, and by keeping himself relevant he comes closer to that money.
