This is a really nice development if it proves to be as advertised.

Lasers! Is there anything they can't do?

I have a family member who's slowly losing her vision to diabetes-related macular degeneration. I'd love to see this fast-tracked.

I could go... even... blinder!

Cool. And nothing to really lose from the testing, either, if it's treating your blindness and the worst it could do is... well, blind you, sounds like a good bet to me for old fogies.

As some with macular problems in my left eye, kicks etc.

Only 38 too - but this wont sort mine - mine is a macular tear and is now scarred so I can focus properly.

Farksticks.

/interesting though in case my other eye goes south.

Jesus - sorry for the pile of shiate I just wrote. Should have checked it before hitting submit! f00k,

My father is afflicted with this shiatty condition, and he has been fortunate enough to be in a couple of late-stage clinical trials that have had some success. In his case (and as mentioned in the article) it has meant some improvement, but mostly just slowing the progression. Having injections directly into the eyes every month for a year and a half takes all 4 balls, the two in the skull and the two in the sack.

Hope this laser show works. He's been too pissed off for far too long.

While reading your Boobies, I was debating the level of insensitivity to make a comment along the lines of you apparently not being able to see your shiatty typing. Then when I saw your apology and decided against it.

Diabetes causes macular edema (and, later, macular ischemia). There is effective treatment for it. This article is discussing age-related macular degeneration (AMD, ARMD), a completely different disease. The treatment of "wet" AMD has been revolutionized recently; however, this new technique may ultimately lead to better management options for "dry" AMD.

Someone should show this article to Steve Wynn.

/already have all kinds of floaters/lines/bubbles/dark spots and blurry spots in my vision

//only 25

///I need to get an eye exam as it has gotten worse over the past year

Wow. Get that redesigned to zap floaters, and I'm your customer.

Good news for chronic masturbators.

Me too. I got shot in the corner of my eye with an arrow when I was a kid. Had floaters ever since.
