There is no dark side of the moon. As a matter of fact, it's all dark.

I came here to say this. Ah well, the band I'm in started playing different tunes....

And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear
You shout and no one seems to hear
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes
Ill see you on the dark side of the moon

That's because NASA has edited them out...

I can tell by the pixels and whatnot.

FAR side subby, far side.

syrtis 2009-07-05 01:51:58 PM
Scene is lit by sunlight = not dark side
Scene is at longitude -5, latitude -55 = not far side

Double FAIL

Far side is the dark side since the same side of the moon always faces the Earth.

Not when the moon is between the earth and the sun, it's not. ertznay was right - it's the FAR side, not the DARK side.

Serious question:

Why are there so many craters on the moon, but not as many on Earth?
Or, maybe I'm mistaken?

The earth has an atmosphere. And it's geologically active.

To add a little detail - most of the meteors that enter Earth's atmosphere burn up before they can hit the surface. For those that do make it down to the surface, the combination of weathering and volcanic/tectonic activity on earth erases impact craters pretty effectively.

Lots of good details here: Link

That is patently untrue. According to my monther-in-law it is the 'hand of God' that directs all the meteors to the moon, and none ever hit earth! That is why the moon in cratered and the Earth is not!

/Yeah the stupid gave me a headache too.

It's nice to have a zoomable image instead of the stuff they posted for the press. Here's an even more awesome (IMHO) image: Link!

Less than two feet per pixel. Whoa.

Thank you, subby. For reminding me of that awful, awful day many years ago when I woke up to inspect the onset of acne on my previously china-smooth teenaged face.

/it cleared but not after the most dreadful 4 years of my life
//happy about being able to count them as the worst I've had :D

Atmosphere burns up small stuff, weather and geological events hide the bigger stuff.

As you can tell by this photo, NASA faked evarything, like, ther's noway that they coulda got all o them astronuts on the moon at the same time, an like there's no breathe there?

The lighting and shadows are all wrong too, clearly there are multiple sources of light on the soundstage. And look at the size of the lunar rover and lander -- there's no way anybody could fit in them. They're clearly just models and not meant for actual use.

It's a photoshop job...and a shoddy one at that. As if they could actually fool anybody with this hack-job. A couple of those white dudes have Negro hands.

I'd like to point out exhibit 1A & 1B from said photo.

You'll find these locations at the very top the image before the sun fades completely out. Zoom all the way in they are near center.

1A. Appears to be 10 rocks in a straight line. There is a crator in the center of this. This is the alien UFO port.

2B. Appears to be a C.L.I.T. Your mom can been seen from space... Tell her next time to close her legs.

It proves one thing to me. There is no good place to stand on that whole moon where you wont eventually get smacked by something!! Where am I supposed to build???
