RIP STEVE MCNAIR

Mentat: Damn. You know, I actually checked wikipedia last night to see who had died on July 4th. This really is a brutal week for celebrities, and some of these are just coming out of nowhere. Micheal Jackson, Billy Mays, Steve McNair? WTF? Who's next, Micheal Jordan?

Hes a highlander and can only be killed by being decapitated by Kobe or Lebron.

mjoven1975: Street View of murder location (new window)

That doesn't look like a great area to me. Any Farkers in TN have any idea what kind of neighborhood that is like?

The whole area south of downtown but still inside the loop is a pretty bad area, but if I remember right, it isn't the worst in Nashville.

God hates the first half of the alphabet.

David Eddings doesn't count as a celebrity :(

Alexis Arguello, the boxing champ, also dead. Proving that God does indeed hate the first half of the alphabet.

Nevermind, I'm thinking Steve Young. Damn, I'm a Colts fan, I should know my Titan's QB's better than this. We're both in the AFC south, anyhow.

I MEAN VINCE YOUNG.

My bets are on David Lee Roth and Queen Latifah to come out next.

Queen Latifah came last year.

I think you're onto something there. I say the entire cast of the first Highlander within this year.

McNair was one tough SOB. It wouldn't surprise me for him to be back on his feet and ready for a start next week.

holy crap.

Holy shiat! That sucks. I really liked him. He seemed like a really hardworking respectable guy (unlike some of the up and coming QBs).

Very sad, He was a nice guy.
Opie was right this will be the year of the dead Celebrity.

Kierkegaard's Pseudonym: First they go big... Michael Jackson. Take out a worldwide symbol of what it means to be American. He's the Statue of Liberty. Then we go local, niche. Billy Mays hits the insomniacs and old people hard. Farrah Fawcett obliterates the adolescent masturbatory fantasies of the middle-aged. Karl Malden hits film geeks and old people again (our weakest link). Carridine puts some worry in the fetish crowd. And now Steve McNair... right at blue collar Real America and black people.

It's self-evident that this is a coordinated assault on our famous.

We need to bomb someone now.

I see your reasoning, and based on McNair's toughness and general badassness, I'm going to have to posit they had to get rid of him quickly, while his guard was down, so he wouldn't be around when the actual open hostilities begin at the Jackson funeral later this week.

From_The_Year_2000 2009-07-04 04:58:33 PM
His performance in the Superbowl vs the Rams was legendary. That final drive is what convinced me that a running QB wasn't just a gimmick.

Who is Steve McNair?

4NSpy: DallasDarling: sarasotarockstar: Walter Cronkite is next...he's pretty much on death watch at the moment.

Other possibilities coming soon are Peter Falk and of course Swayze.

I had Michael J. Fox in my death pool.

He's a good pick to shake things up.

Damn Clint Eastwood is like a farking Energizer rabbit. He's killing me. That asshole, Bob Hope, was just like him. Kept him on the list for twelve farking years before he finally gave it up.

I've got faith in Martin and Charlie Sheen, one of them is going to come out of the blue for me.

In all honesty I would say Swayze, Tommy Lee Jones, or Clint Eastwood is gonna be next.

Not much there but a church, hookers and drug dealers. Since it isn't Sunday and I haven't ever seen him thank god for any of his victories I am going to assume he was hooking up.

You think with his NFL Career and Restaurant, he wouldn't have to resort to selling himself on the street as a prostitute.
