I hate jean shopping because I have no idea what farking style I like. They have, literally, 20 different kinds, like Low-rise, high-boot, high fade boot cut rise, boot cuff flat rise, high fade...its ridiculous. where the hell to start.

I used to get my jeans from AE. Went shopping with a girl once who picked me out a good pair. Went back the following week and bought 3 more paris off the stack.

/still have 2 of them left.

1) Gangs are not everywhere. I lived in Sydney for a half a year and the only gang trouble I remember hearing about was the "bra boys", a group that used to be committed to keeping youth away from drugs and booze by going surfing, and that they had evolved into a bunch of territorial douchebags on the waves.

2) I used to work for A&F. (A long time ago. fark off.) I remember actually talking with a canadian guy who came in there once to buy camo cargo pants because he said he used it for hunting, and it was cheaper and better than the stuff he'd get for way overprice at a hunting store.

But yeah, I agree on the branding part. A&F is all about brand. IMO A lot of their clothing looks retarded, especially where they try to create a trend. The jeans fall apart quickly even when they're not pre-ripped.

I think the only guy in the this thread that has a clue about what good quality denim is, is phelixcubed.

I have an unfortunate attachment to Cheap Mondays, which usually start to rip about 6 months into wearing them. I just buy a new pair whenever that happens. I guess it's just easier, since I know exactly which size/fit to buy and don't have to go through the arduous process of finding better-fitting yet equally perfect jeans. I think the most expensive pair of jeans I've gotten were Rock & Republic. No mas.

Are they certified antique musical instruments?

No. Are the jeans at A&F "certified" antiques?

Bohemian: SOME designer clothing fits better and is made better. Many items are simply over priced trendy crap. You really have to know what to look for to find something well made.

Kind of like everything else in a consumerist culture, eh?
