Mwahahaha! Torrington/Fark trifecta complete!

Even if two are the same story, kinda.

Also, CT quadfecta with the broad from NH yanking another woman out of a car and beating her up.

/is enjoying this
//ct, new england's lil attention whore
///there's a joke in there about most of the women i've dated...

I must have misread the original story from the other day because I didn't know the girl involved was the woman's daughter. I thought the kids were at a neighbor's house or something & heard the woman's screams. I honestly thought the kids were just being overactive good samaritans.

Wow, this is seriously messed up, then. And the Mom knows her daughter doesn't like her boyfriend, yet has sex w/him while the daughter and friends are home? Ewww factor aside, why would you exacerbate your daughter's negative feelings towards him like that?

FTFA, the guy seems normal enough---well, except for the NASCAR thing, but to each his own. And he at least had the good sense to break up w/her.

Swanson and Arnold are not dating any longer.

Well, no shiat

Arnold has asked him to do what he could to drop the charges,

Fat chance if it were me. Throw the book at the little turds.

I just don't understand...if you hear your mom scream and are worried, don't you just throw the door open?

How long does it take to round up all your pals?
Wouldn't you worry she could be dead by then?

It's all so confusing.

That mom is one of the many, many who get off on the thought of the kids hearing. "Oh my, we're being so loud, I hope the kids don't hear *giggle*" I bet some men here even know a few. I hate
to say that some of my closer aquaintances are like that.

I wonder how long it will be before one of these performances is captured on a webcam and emailed to the rest of the neighborhood?

/that sort of thing could put a damper on a person's sense of adventure.

For a self-declared "redneck" this guy's response to the incident is pretty damned reasonable and even-handed. I hope that he does indeed continue with pressing charges, if not for himself then for other potential victims of these little shiats.

I also hope his self-esteem improves and he picks from a better dating pool in the future.

I can easily believe the little biatch set the guy up. Teenage girls are just about the most evil creatures on the planet. They tend to be jealous, selfish, and vindictive.

THE KNOXVILLE GIRL

I met a little girl in Knoxville
A town we all know well
And every Sunday evening
Out in her home I'd dwell
We went to take an evening walk
About a mile from town
I picked a stick up off the ground
And knocked that fair girl down;

She fell down on her bended knees
For mercy she did cry
Oh, Willie dear, don't kill me here
I'm unprepared to die
She never spoke another word
I only beat her more
Until the ground around me
Within her blood did flow.

I took her by her golden curls
And I drug her 'round and 'round
Throwing her into the river
That flows through Knoxville town
Go down, go down, you Knoxville girl
With the dark and roving eyes
Go down, go down, you Knoxville girl
You can never be my bride.

I started back to Knoxville
Got there about midnight
My mother she was worried
And woke up in a fright
Saying, ""Dear son, what have you done
To bloody your clothes so?""
I told my anxious mother
I was bleeding at my nose.

I called for me a candle
To light myself to bed
I called for me a handkerchief
To bind my aching head
Rolled and tumbled the whole night through
As troubles was for me
Like flames of hell around my bed
And in my eyes could see.

They carried me down to Knoxville
And put me in a cell
My friends all tried to get me out
But none could go my bail
I'm here to waste my life away
Down in this dirty old jail
Because I murdered that Knoxville girl
The girl I loved so well.

I understand it as Swanson being married to one Arnold, then divorcing/being divorced by her and dating the sister (his ex-sister-in-law). Could be way off though, because TFA is really not clear, and that's the kind of thing you'd expect to be mentioned if it was the case.

18 isn't an unreasonable age to start having children.

It really isn't. The over extension of childhood and infantilization of adults is what leads people to think otherwise.

Exactly. If you can get married, have sex, vote and run your own business, why shouldn't you raise children? Overall, society is having babies later and later. I think it'd be statistically healthy if we trended back a little.

While the number "18" is an arbitrary guideline for all these activities that we have accepted it is still reflective of some cultural awareness of the maturity level minimally desired for the person dong them reconciled with some kind of awareness that a lot of our societal rules go against some of our natural drives.

Also there is evidence to substantiate that women have longer periods of puberty than males and that the physical effects of having children before the end of puberty can be physically unhealthy.

Now from a sociological standpoint it can be argued that having kids at a younger age in some cultures is no big deal because in those cultures they are more used to responsibility and are better prepared for raising those kids. Thing is, we're not that culture.

As the previous poster noted we do infantalize our kids, but you don't "fix" that (if indeed it is "broken") by having young people have kids.

Yes lots of people including myself called BS in the original thread for a 16 yr old not knowing what people having sex sounds like.

Drammach 2009-07-05 02:57:27 AM
Physically (and medically) speaking, 16 to 24 is the ideal age range.
Mentally, Emotionally, even Socially, I'd up the range to 20 to 28.

As a supposedly "advanced" civilization we try to protect childhood to the "n"th degree, but fact is, women have been getting pregnant just as soon as they were able for some 250,000 years. ( If you want to count Neanderthal and Homo Erectus, otherwise 50,000 for modern humans. )

That means females have been getting pregnant at age 12 to 14 with fairly high mortality rates, but at age 16 on up, they tend to do just fine.

In fact, they've done so fine there are literally Billions of us humans on the planet.
