Englebert Slaptyback: Malachilenomade

And having a college degree really doesn't mean anything other than "I'm in debt."

Actually such a requirement would be pretty darn handy for weeding out most of the knuckle-draggers.

That may sound good, but it would inevitably result in juries of educated people passing judgment (so to speak) on Cletus and Brandeen; this would quickly turn into allegations that the elitist jury equated 'stupid' with 'guilty' and unfairly convicted the mouth-breather, ignoring any/all evidence to the contrary.

And they'd be correct to say so. Hell, look no further than Fark. These forums actually have a much higher intellect than the general populace, are much better educated, and yet are some of the most bigoted and judgmental people you'll find.

On Fark, if you don't live in an urban location of > 3 million people, you're considered an ignorant hick. What makes you think applying that to a jury would result in anything different?

Michael10101: If I am ever on trial I want educated people to be judging me.

Not if you did it :-)
