Ppl are living too long, becoming total lame-os no one wants to interact with. Have a social life and make lots of money or it'll happen to you, too.

C'mon, a rotting corpse leaves a stench that would knock you flat, you can't tell me nobody noticed a bad smell, insects, SOMETHING. Especially in an apartment.

Shiat, man, you def do not live at my complex, where these human Priuses flush once a week to reduce theirz carbon footprint.

Bagelox-99: OK, so she died with the water running. Water takes longer than 5 years to come thru the ceiling downstairs.

Heh! That wasn't water that was dripping. (j/k)

It's more likely that a pipe in her apartment developed a leak rather than the water was running all those years. If the water was running steadily all those years before she was discovered you'd think the water utility company would have noticed a spike in her bills and made an inquiry.

I assume she wasn't taking showers or using the toilet. Kinda hard when you are dead. A slow leak would probably mask any 'strange' water usage.

I'm going to appear a heartless biatch; but so what if she died alone and nobody noticed? It appears from local observations that she was not a sad person and as such I can only assume that she was a loner and was quite happy with that. I highly doubt she would have wanted busy bodies, who have no other reason then feeding their own self worth, visiting her because she was old and alone. As a loner she would have known that there was a very high probability she could die alone and not be discovered. I am also 100% sure that this once in a life time habit of dying alone did not have a negative emotional effect on her.

She sounds like me. I should have married her. Eh?

All you need is a 'bot to scan for "cops" and "doughnuts" in the title and automatically post the "lots of cop cars in front of doughnut shop" pic, post pedobear or Chris Hansen images when "child" shows up in the thread title, and post "WHARGARBL dog" at completely random times.

In short, image posting is the easiest form of Turing Test for a program to pass.

No one would know you were dead. The computer can take over all the functions of your life anyways.

ignite ice: It's kind of weird... when you look at the picture of her apartment. For instance, that roll of paper towels on the floor.

That roll has been there for five years, just sitting there, untouched. All of these 'things' and nobody to use them...

Sounds like an episode of Life After People.

False. Check out The Forbes 400 some year. About 80% of millionaires are self made, commrade.

I think you are correct that her dead body did not suffer any shame, remorse, pain, etc. at sitting there, unnoticed, for 5 years. Stories like these are sad, though, because people infer that her life, prior to her demise, must have also been lonely, else she would have been noticed. They also may infer that she died slowly - perhaps she fell and broke a hip, and lay there dying for days before she finally succumbed to dehydration. That, too, is sad.

There's also the ick factor that there could be a rotting corpse next door to you... right... now.... Booga.

As for you Farkers who think this could happen to you, get out of your farking house already! My God. Or have kids. I can't even have a pee without my kids finding me, no matter how stealthy I try to be about it.

There is no life inside of your computer - that which you are interpreting as "interaction" is a simulation. Take a friggin' walk. If you aren't talking to an actual person with a face and a pulse at least once a day, you are doing it wrong.

I prefer to use the definition of rich taught to us by the progressives.

Rich - (noun) Anybody who makes one dollar more than you do.

Works well when you need to soak the "rich" with more taxes and also get the masses of the "common folk" on your side because you know that most of the money is in the middle class.

I have yet to see a 1-man company produce a single millionaire, much less a billionaire. This leads me to believe that no single man is capable of producing such a vast fortune off of his own mortal devices. So, if a person can single handedly create such wealth despite this, where does this huge pile of money come from, and why does it stick onto one individual?

/ Hint: Someone else is working hard too.
// But not getting paid.

And then I could have lived rent free for the last five years!

Goddamn automatic bill pay. It can start sucking cash out of your account immediately, but damn if it doesn't take a month and a half for it to stop doing so. Like a mosquito, in that respect.

Hey douche, I've worked hard every day of my life.

I could work circles around you.

Try saying that smart ass shiat to my face, because I'd love to punch it.

Working hard does not equate wealth anyways farkbrains.

My simple comment was reflecting the tough times ALL of us are going through.

And yes, I stand by initial statement...because to me, if you can stop working today, and be secure for 5 years, you are rich.

In pharoah's tombs, they've found loaves of bread that have been sitting, uneaten, for more than 3000 years.

Yum!

I don't believe a word of that article. The Sun is a tabloid right?

Stunned neighbour Cleo Gifford, 34, said nobody had visited tragic Isabella in 18 YEARS.
She added: "It was a wee shame. She was always cleaning, and would go hiking. She was very fit and only became frail in later years."

People never visited yet knew she was "always cleaning."
People never visited, for 18 years, and yet knew she hiked. And they knew when she became frail, despite never visiting.

Dorothy Crystal, joint owner of Isabella's optometrist, said: "I'm absolutely shocked. It is a close-knit community and I find it incredible nobody knew she had died for all this time."

After 5 years its highly unlikely her optometrist would even remember her name.

I'm sorry, I'm supposed to be suspending disbelief, I don't mean to ruin the entertainment.

It happened to my twenty-six-year old daughter this past March. Ten days dead from cardiac arrythmia, on the floor of her apartment; her work place kept calling her but it took them that long to decide something was wrong (she'd called in sick on the first day) and get someone to open the apartment. I heard it was not a pretty sight. I still don't understand why the neighbors didn't notice, or more to the point, why they ignored it.
