worked in cornwall bridge cn. for 5 years, 3 days a week at boss's second home. they were big city folk (nyc) who wanted some sweet suburban(country) retreat. the thing about the part of cn. that i'm familiar with, is, it's almost picture postcard pretty...covered bridges, little white churches in the town square, etc. but if you look deeper, and between the pages of those pretty towns, there's places like torrington, and a lot of others, where i suspect most of the people who help maintain these "second" homes for the new yorkers live. it's a little bit like steven king country, when he writes about maine and it's citizens. but god, there are some lovely areas in that neck of the woods. of course it's especially lovely in the autumn, for obvious reasons....
went through torrington once. ain't going back.
