Sarah was being an idiot, but not in the way you say.

Sarah *could* have named newspapers and magazines, I'm sure. Instead, she was playing the Alaskan angle too tough, like everyone in America was a tourist getting off the boat in Juneau.

Remember she followed it up by saying something like, "We get them all up here...." She was trying to make it look like Couric was belittling Alaska, implying we don't get newspapers there.

We go through a lot of that kind of stuff with tourists. But Couric wasn't a tourist, and neither were the American people. She got defensive for no reason.

Same with the "You can see Russia from Alaska" schpiel. It's a tourist thing. She kept acting like people had just gotten off the plane, and she had to explain these little Alaska nuances to everyone. Thing is, by doing so, she wasn't answering the questions.
