Tard as an insult? I don't think Sarah Palin will appreciate you defending her by insulting young Trig.

You have anything else to say, tard?

Aww, poor baby. Go to bed, everything will be okay in the morning. This is just a bad dream, Sarah is okay!

Sabyen91: You think she resigned for nothing? I have a bridge I would like to sell you.

Yeah yeah.......and you are the same guy who (if she didn't resign) would be spouting off about how meaningless it was to get two more years governing a remote state of 700,000.

Sorry that she cut off that argument for you and put herself squarely in the middle of the debate, but not everybody on our side builds their career by voting "present" all the time.

Har Dee Har Har.

I hope she suffers the rest of her life for the atrocity of embezzlement.

Har Har Har.

/what do you expect from someone who would share a ticket with a guy who worked for a Mafia member and married the guy's daughter. She inherited all of her father's mob money.

Mark Sanford has got to be feeling pretty good right now in consideration of the stories which continue to bury him under the fold.

cchris_39: WTF is brad's blog?

For you novices out there, resignation is the last step in a hard fought brutal war, not the first one. If "brad" is even remotely correct, she would not be resigning with nothing in exchange, but saving that trump card for when it's needed most.

Idiots.

I guess hopefuls will greenlight about anything.........

Brad's Blog I don't know. But I do know Shannyn Moore, the cited source.

Shannyn was an Alaska TV journalist, is now a contributor to MSNBC and Huffington Post. She's been following Palin closely for years.

There's also Andrew Halcro, a former Alaskan legislator (R), who has a post on his blog saying to expect the scandal to break open soon.

They've been talking about this for several weeks up there. Looks like talk is soon turning into action....

I'm about as anti-Palin as you could fine but... "same windows, same wood, same products." kinda sounds hollow when you realize you're talking about a town with a population of less than six thousand. How many contractors are in town who can take on such a project? How many suppliers for them to order from?

don't see how someone who can't even do a full term (winning election not withstanding IE, Bush/Obama ect) I mean the talking points against her are going to to be easy and not hard to nail her ass to the wall.

Mitt can just say "How can you be qualified to be President when you can't even do a full term as gov of alaska?"
I mean crap atleast Mitt and Mike did serve full terms for their respective offices

You can tell me all you like about what kind of guy I am but you still can't deny that Palin leaving office is not slightly odd. Or you would but you are a right-wing tool.

Putting aside Palin and the Cult of Personality that entials ... it's not totally out there to suspect that a high ranking politician from one of the most corrupt state's in the union with close political connections to one of the most corrupt senator's in recent history might have some dirt on their hands.

And yes, we've "known" about some of her dirty laundry for a while (the house, the Wasilla sports complex), but it takes time to build federal cases. High profile cases take months, if not years to build ... and this one is about as high profile as it gets. The prosecutors aren't going indict until the evidence is air tight and the ducks are all in a row.

It's out of the box (no pun intended) but really, how does she benefit from staying up there and governing God's Frozen People for one more year.

She's a long shot at best. Her best strategy is to get to the lower 48, shake hands, kiss babies, and be on TV ALOT.

She doesn't have close ties to Ted. Again, she back-stabbed the party while she won the governorship. She doesn't have a lot of friends amongst the Alaska GOP.

Imagine, setting her up to think she is going to take a big fall, and then nothing happens.

It would be LOLworthy

deadapostle: Okay, I just watched her resignation video (new window).

Is it just me or did she:

A - Take WAAAAY too long babbling on
B - Sound like a blithering idiot
C - Make a really bad choice of location with all of the animal noises
D - Keep referencing her kids and pointing to her left and then when they pan out, her kids were on her right
E - Perform that speech in front of about 10 people

?

I've seen better speeches by children in elementary school.

Smacking and licking lips repeatedly.... Ridiculously fast talking... disjointed, jumbled thoughts... Vague, seemingly unplanned and unexplained behavior (quitting)... She RAN off camera - could not get out of there fast enough.

Having been around a few cocaine fiends back in the day, I can't tell you how familiar this all looks. If she's not on stimulants, she's in the middle of an emotional crisis that is producing an insane amount of adrenaline. It looked similar to a bipolar 'mania' episode as well.

She was in a panic. Plain and simple. This was not the look of someone who is off to do something she believes is bigger and better for the state - or the nation. She put on her best game face, but she did not present as someone truly optimistic about her future.

Bizarre = calling people who stick around to finish the job they signed up to do as "quitters" in a speech announcing that she is quitting the job SHE signed up to do. Freepers are claiming she finished everything she wanted to accomplish in Alaska and can go home now. She's not quitting - she already finished! WTF?!

I think she is having a nervous breakdown - and true to Palin style, she wanted to go out there and announce herself. She could have released a statement, but that's not her style.

Except that she's working with a party that advertises (read doesn't necessarily follow) the idea of personal responsibility and she is obviously shirking that responsibility.

No matter what happens, she's no longer a viable candidate and could never make it through the primaries. One more cake walk adversary for the Democrats has been removed.

I think this is all an internet circle jerk right now. We won't get a full grasp on this until at least next Thursday or Friday, as this long weekend is the time when these stories break to throw the 24 news cycles off their rotation. With the Jackson story being more popular, she picked a great time to cut and run.

The thing I keep thinking about is, if Palin truly did this out of sincerely wanting to protect her family and get out of this vicious racket -- or even if she did it to kick off her '12 presidential campaign ...

Why did you do it in a press conference called so hastily even the Alaskan press couldn't get there, in the news blackhole and political vacuum that is Friday, July 3?

That's a tactic used to hide BAD news. So the parlor game becomes, what's the bad news here being hidden?

I don't think we even know or will for at least a week. Hell, it could be something terribly personal, like a terminal illness of someone in the family, or the cash/sport complex thing has enough steam to actually get them popped.
