Well see, there's your problem. If you had used clean burning propane to create your torch, it wouldn't have burned out of control. Here, I have a series of propane related accessories that could help you to make a much more efficient weed removing tool.

misanthropoid: For pure entertainment value in garden tools, it's hard to beat the rodenator.

That's awesome. Everyone be sure to view the video, it's about a hundred instances of what comes after "Hold my beer and watch this".

Yes Sound: OgreMagi: Technically, there is no real difference between a weed burner and a flamethrower. The former is legal, the latter is not. The difference is pretty much in name only.

What does a ground torch count as? Mine has a 200 gallon tank, accepts a mixture of JP8, gasoline, and a gelling agent, and shoots a 30 foot constant stream of burnination.

I would count it as awesome fun just waiting for an accident.

Weeds grow, without being planted, watered, or cared for. Walk or play on them, leave stuff there, they grow back.

Lawns have to be planted, watered, fertilized, mowed. Do too much on a lawn, it gets ruined.

Seems like we're going about yard care all wrong.

Yeah, but it was in your HOA contract, so STFU and get out there and water your lawn.

I always wonder why the more attractive and useful plants are the hardest to grow.

I've seen propane weed torches in catalogs. But I imagine there is a lot or prep work that goes into a controlled burn.

A LOT OF PREP WORK....

That needs to be installed in the arcades, except you don't get a fireproof suit and it activates the second you step onto the dance pad.

No we walk around with a nomex flightsuit, gloves, hood and face shield (oh and body armor). The tank gets pulled around behind the MTVR with the sixcons that we refuel it from. It runs out pretty quick, but it burns reeds like nothing else.

OgreMagi: Weed burners are rather popular for clearing large areas of brush. It's common enough that it's no surprise that on occasion some one screws up.

Are you sure of that? Last I heard you could still buy them if you could find one.

Oddly enough, I haven't noticed a flamethrower aisle in Home Depot ;)

Harbor Freight has them, too.

I have one and use it to remove weeds from around my house.
