"AKGovSarahPalin: We'll soon attach info on decision to not seek re-election... this is in Alaska's best interest, my family's happy... it is good, stay tuned"

Christian Bale: wait, this was expected? I never heard anything about this. Seems like a poor move, shouldn't she finish her term and just not run again, instead of abandoning her post, if she wants to position herself for 2012?

I think that's part of the strategy. If she doesn't do the work, she can't be judged on it later. So she's quitting now.

Sym_pathetic: I love the video cuts of her and McCain together. The look of hatred in his eyes as she's speaking to the crowds is palpable.

lol, yeah, McCain is not good at hiding his true feelings. During the debates you could see the hate rays emanating from his person aimed at Obama.

SilentStrider: Calvin Coolidge: Hahhaha... Fox has Bill Kristol on the phone spinning this as potentially a "shrewd political move." farking gold.

if Bill Kristol told me the sky was blue, I'd have to go outside and look up to verify it.

If Bill Kristol said the sky was blue and you went to look, it wouldn't be blue.

As a heart attack. That's actually the narrative the guy on Fox News is running with in interviewing a string of people covering this.

For serious.

I wonder if she is going to move to Wyoming or Montana. Kansas has a very conservative Senator seat opening for 2010. I wonder if she is going to carpet bag?

I'm just trying to think of reasons she would resign in the middle of a term and not give a reason why...

Worse.

Trig got somebody pregnant.

It's true. Liberal hate doesn't involve blowing up children in O.K.City, shooting down doctors, or massacring church congregations. It's like conservative hate, only without the bullets!

Todd Palin told FOX News that his wife will concentrate on "doing the things for Alaska and the country" that she is passionate about and can not do as governor with the limitation and constant opposition she deals with within the state.

Does she think the presidency is gonna be like Disneyland?

They're saying she resigned because of David Letterman!

SRSLY? Do they have any idea how bad that makes her sound? The "Commander-in-Chief of the Alaska National Guard" cutting and running over a dumb joke?

If by "a chance" you mean "a chance at winning his home state only."

Kristol is very much abot setting up airhead, populist, proto-fascist puppets. he's not going to let go of his Sarah fantasy any time soon.

but it sounds like she's telling backers that they can support other candidates for 2012, so my guess is that something has happened behind the scenes.

I wonder what kind of hate Islamofascist terrorists are, liberal or conservative?

/Classifying terrorism as "liberal" or "conservative" is so asinine

Genevieve Marie: I hate when people get all excited about the idea of her running because it's a sure victory for Democrats. Yes, I'm a liberal, yes I voted for Obama... but I hate the idea of going into a presidential race with one candidate who is so completely pathetic I can't even handle the possibility that they MIGHT win. I'd prefer a legitimate Republican candidate get the nomination so we can have some semblance of a real election.

Seconded, especially considering some of his more recent moves are in clear and irritating violation of his campaign message. Glad to see the left has partly spoken up against that. We've seen what happens when there's little resistance to authority during the Bush years.

She apparently doesn't understand the difference between resigning and not seeking re-election.

No. That would actually be a good ticket - especially Watts, and it would be stupid to waste it in an election they cannot possibly win.
