Doesn't someone need a marketable skill to work in the private sector?

The Why Not Guy: It only reinforces the Conservatives' "See how the Liberal Media is out to get our Sarah?" mindset.

Which is funny since here at Fark, she is absolutely loathed by lots of conservatives. Maintaining it's just the media, will juts alienate more people from the GOP if they stick with it and she hangs around in the public eye.

Because he's a farking idiot.

I got a huge laugh out of that, too. Well done.

Meltdown? It's not a left-winger who's running away halfway through her term.

The GOP has to be pretty dense to run Palin given how obvious it is that she's 75% of the reason they got their asses handed to them last year.

But the GOP's pretty dense, so I fully expect them to push for it.

Even if she really gets her game on and poses a serious challenge to Obama, I'll never get over that anti-witchcraft incantation ceremony. Religious morality is mercilessly corroding American culture and politics -- it was bad enough we had a President who believes God told him to invade Iraq, but it will make matters exponentially worse to run a candidate that believes f*cking Wiccans are casting spells on her from afar.

I can't wait to see how this decision is going to be hailed as brilliant by the talk radio hosts. Has anyone ever resigned their office to focus on the Presidency 3 years out?

Slowly the screws turn, the twisting, the squirming, the burning...

Helen Thomas biatching at Bobby Gibbs because there is no transparency here!

Colin Powell is doubting Barry's wisdom.

The Norks fire 4 more missiles

Palin may be setting-up for a future run.

My neighbor has removed all Obama stickers and signs - he's pissed off!

Biden draws a crowd of 40 people in Erie, PA.

Gannett is cutting more than 1,000 jobs.

Unemployment numbers @9 ½ %

Someone has to feel some pressure here.

wait, this was expected? I never heard anything about this. Seems like a poor move, shouldn't she finish her term and just not run again, instead of abandoning her post, if she wants to position herself for 2012?

Philly: gilgigamesh: Listening to the replay of her rambling speech, it sounds like she is complaining about the press digging into ethical/legal issues.

Imagine her as President: "Screw you guys, I'm going home."

I think she has just pretty much signed the death warrant for any presidential hopes regardless of her reasons. This performance is bizarre, erratic and just plain weird.

After this I don't see how she survives the first round of primaries.

Obama is going to have to intentionally f*ck up REAL hard to NOT get re-elected , if she runs for 2012 - assuming the GOP picks her as the contender

She said something about that in her speech.

I thought she was just referring to the myth about Obama sending lawyers to dig up dirt during the campaign. Maybe not.

me_the_farker: This make no sense even for republicans.

Do Republicans think that people would vote for people for President who don't hold some kind of office.

Romney, Huckabee, Palin, will be going around saying vote for me, I haven't done anything in 3+ years except biatch and complain about Obama i'm better than a sitting President.

Come on....

They already tried everything that makes sense to them... this may actually be a spark of some original thinking.
