Oh god dammit.

Not like it wasn't expected tho.

chipspastic 2009-07-03 03:25:39 PM
She just announced she won't even finish her term as governor! Doesn't sound like a presidential run to me.

The1andonlyZack 2009-07-03 03:25:41 PM
I doubt Alaska would re-elect her...and she is crazier than previously thought, which is mighty crazy, if she thinks she has a shot at winning the presidency.

HAVE FUN STORMING THE CASTLE..dumb ass.

Fark It We'll Do it Live 2009-07-03 03:25:46 PM
If hairy was stupid, Sarah Palin would be 70's porn.

Cornwell [TotalFark] 2009-07-03 03:25:59 PM
And this is how the Republican party dies. With a candidate that's just there in order for Obama to have someone to run against.

/How 'bout Palin/Paul '12?

thomps [TotalFark] 2009-07-03 03:26:21 PM
clearly america is on the brink of a new golden age.

This is going to be the best election ever.

Oh please god yes.

Watching an Obama versus Palin debate would be a political spectator highlight of my life.

Running a-puck 2009-07-03 03:26:45 PM
Well. That should make things entertaining. I really kind of hope she gets the nomination, it'll be interesting watching her debate Obama.

Teela [TotalFark] 2009-07-03 03:26:49 PM
So God told her not to run for a 2nd term, I take it?

That's a whole lot of preparing to cram in to three years.

..and pretty much no one else except the senile elderly republicans that might actually vote for her.

She's not even finishing her term though - will resign within weeks. That's not normal. Scandal?

One of Sanford's 'other' women?

As a Democrat, I fully support Palin running as the Republican nominee. Please, I insist.

I'm proud to say I voted for no one in 2008, as I wouldn't be proud to have said I voted for any of the hucksters running.

I don't even think the far right is dumb enough to let Tundra Barbie win a primary.

Wow, just think of the schadenfreude, the fail is going to be spectacular on a biblical scale. Remember kids ....

people who consider themselves real conservatives are going to have to grow a pair and actually deal with this person. Standing around pretending it has nothing to do with you and bashing the libs is going to get you to the point of having her as your next candidate.

So what's it going to be ?

Donald_McRonald 2009-07-03 03:29:19 PM
Palin/Gingrich '012 baby!

OHPLEASEOHPLEASEOHPLEASE.

Richard Pye 2009-07-03 03:29:20 PM
On the one hand this will be amusing and arousing.

On the other hand, Obama and the Democrats need a good solid intelligent opponent to stop them from becoming complacent and doing a bad job.

boluke01 2009-07-03 03:29:40 PM
I'm not really worried, she'd get eaten alive in the primaries anyway. There are too many repubs that are far smarter and more educated than her. If anything, it will be good TV to watch the intellectual beatdown she will endure in the debates. But I can't even fancy a guess as to who should be on the ticket since I've been dissappointed with the entire party for about the last 10 years.

yes, if there's one thing that captivates primary voters it's itelligence and education...

Befuddled 2009-07-03 03:30:55 PM
So did Palin do some poling in her home state and find out that she's got less than a snowball's chance in hell of winning reelection as governor? I can't imagine she is all that popular in Alaska right now.

shower_in_my_socks [TotalFark] 2009-07-03 03:31:00 PM
Where is it said that she isn't finishing her term? Did she just announce it on TV?

Close, she's resigning her office by the end of July. Someone might have something on her. Stay tuned

Yes!

Bacontastesgood 2009-07-03 03:31:59 PM
Yeah. It's all over but the freakshow. It will be fun for a while if she does actually enter the primary, but now she isn't even Fred Thompson level credible.

Although I would take her being indicted, convicted and imprisoned as a second choice popcorn accompaniment.

ALASKA is so FARKING HAPPY at this announcement.

Yeah, even though she's a quitter, we still hate her guts.

ryebread [TotalFark] 2009-07-03 03:33:00 PM
It sounds like she's stepping down at the end of July... I can only hope this is in preparation for a run in 2012, and not because she knows some huge scandal is about to come to the surface.

/Oh please oh please oh please, let her win the nomination in 2012

Schmea 2009-07-03 03:33:03 PM
Just a theory but... with Putin acting less and less democratic, maybe she's resigning to be our full time eyes on Russia
