Meh. Futurama already did it.

Knowing as I do that LA is stuffed to the gills with aspiring writers and directors of some talent, I can only assume that the studio bigwigs are just unwilling to actually PAY anyone for good ideas and decent scripts as the cause of this tidal backwash of rotten movie concepts.

I refuse to believe everyone has suddenly and simultaneously run out of ideas for good movies.

Didn't they already make a music video?

They already made a viewmaster TV show. Not really, but any excuse to post about Wonderfalls is a good excuse.

I think they do it because there is less risk involved. If you make a movie about a toy - a toy where you they could obtain solid data about how many units have been sold -then there already is a potential connection to millions of moviegoers who owned or were exposed to the toy.
/sucks..but, yeh, I think that's it

Lincoln Logs, the movie! Slinky! Hula Hoop! The Jart movie!

I... I shouldn't give them ideas.

No, I'm quite sure that the worst double feature already came out: Battlefield Earth and Reign of Fire.

/yes, saw them as a double feature
//ah, teenage years with access to a drive in theater
///pretty good popcorn, thankfully

I can't see how this movie came be more than 7 frames log.

Screw that, I'm holding out for Frogger, the epic motion picture.

At least find toys that actually WOULD make good movies....

Look, it'll take me 2 minutes to come up with 5 good examples:

1.) Lawn Darts

2.) Invasion of the Glo Worms

3.) Crossfire!

4.) Stretch Armstrong

5.) Pogs: The Motion Picture.

I actually liked Reign of Fire *shrugs* It had dragons, Christian Bale and Gerard Butler reenact Empire Strikes Back for the kiddies, a wacky bald tatted up McConneghy, sky diving dragon catchers. Those are precisely the kind of things I look for in a movie

When do we get a movie about a giant killer Slinky?

The ViewMaster was hot. When I got one for Christmas. In 1964.

okay, no joking, i think i have a way to make it work, but this is an idea based on the crap hollywood alreay churns out.

A mundane, nobody homocide detective is sent a Viewmaster with pictures of a murder. Every week the serial killer sends him a new disc of pictures. And he has to use clues hidden in each disc to find the killer.

what i meant is each disc is a new body.

Also, the oculars are fitted with springloaded spikes that shoot into your eyes if you flip too many slides.

My best friend and I are waiting for a Katamari Damacy movie.

it will rock.

Jackie Chan as the Prince
Christopher Walken as The King

and if they are going to personify the katamari, which they would, it would be Adam Sandler.

Buckster [TotalFark] 2009-07-03 07:24:10 PM
Viewmasteroids?

WhyteRaven74 [TotalFark] 2009-07-03 07:35:50 PM
Fano: www.gamesetwatch.com

That was a TV show that could only appeal to children.

/why yes I did watch it every Saturday

Mya_Buttreeks: "The Importance of Being Ernest: The Life and Times of Jim Varney"

I chortled.

/thought of the same thing some time back

Sit-n-Spin- The Movie

Shot in Imax. The cameras are mounted on gimbals and rotate furiously for 2 hours. Barftastic!

Wouldn't that just be a rework of "Feeders of Vaal" without Captain Kirk?

A ViewmasterTM reel is a bit smaller than the size of a DVD. I want a ViewmasterTM style viewer for DVDs. 3D DVDs. Just think, you could watch your pron and nobody else could see it.

ive been waiting for a MASK movie forEVER.

i hope someone really weird does it...like Michel Gondry.

it needs to be treated correctly. and the toy is obscure enough they could get away with it.
