North Korea is number one exporter of potassium; other East Asian countries have inferior potassium.

I think it tells us a lot about North Korea that they have to kind of explain what beer is.

FTFA: "with an average per capita income of $1,065 in 2008, according to the South's central bank"

Woah, that's less than I spend on beer each year.

Taedong River Beer

I think I'll pass.

"Taedong River is the main pollution source in the Nampho coastal area"
-----------------------------------
"However, lack of investment in treatment of
wastewater and sewage, together with insufficient
management and repair of treatment facilities, results
in contamination of water resources, particularly
Taedong River
."
-----------------------------------
"Pollution of rivers and streams has become severe in recent years, particularly in the Taedong River, which flows through central Pyongyang."
-----------------------------------

Probably not a lot worse than the Cuyahoga River of the 70's, but that was 30+ years ago, and we didn't make major label beer out of it.

Their government has lied/censored about having food, borders stretching to down to India, and having flying cars for so long even their gov has become delusional.

You don't.

Newsflash: Not EVERYONE in North Korea is starving with no money. There are restaurants in Pyongyang, even.

It's all part of the reason the people don't rise up.

Looked at the advert on this link (new window)

There's an ISO 9001 label in the text.. why would North Korea get a business ISO certified?

Nah don't bother. It'd take you $200 worth of that piss for the same fuzzy feeling from the Bushmills. And pee every 30 minutes.

I was under the impression that in order to make beer, one needs a steady supply of grains of some sort.

Or is it made not only with polluted river water, but some of those tasty corn kernels that peasants prize out of cow dung on the roadside?

I've had this beer. You can buy it in some bars in South Korea. Surprisingly it is a great tasting beer. It's usually my first choice as South Korean beer is awful.

I couldn't understand it, but I did see some TV when I visited the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Propaganda mostly, from what I could tell. Still, it was better than LOST.

Party at Kim's house!

"Kim's wine cellar was stocked with 10,000 bottles, the chef said, and banquets often started at midnight and lasted into the morning."

Their beer is made from the peeofsomeyoungguy.
